25.01.2022 Nothing is more important to us than shaping, inspiring and guiding the next generation of dance artists and creatives. Dance educators are pivotal to nurturing young talent, encouraging, motivating and guiding them through their studies, and helping students flourish not only as artists, but as young adults. And so we are thrilled to unveil our Teacher Professional Development Program for 2021 FOCUS. ... We offer three opportunities to connect with the ADC team and have direct access to our Artistic Director, Amy Hollingsworth, and the extraordinary ADC dancers. Each FOCUS session has its own unique focus! Concentrating on one area of development and knowledge sharing. We look forward to lively, robust conversation and working collectively with our participants to continue redefining the ways we collaborate with students and engage them with dance. Head to the website for more information and to book your spot at our next FOCUS! https://australasiandancecollective.com/professional-devel/ Photography by Morgan Roberts

23.01.2022 Danny Harley, AKA The Kite String Tangle, is a prolific two-time Aria Music Award nominated producer, singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and label owner hailing from Brisbane. I was excited to collaborate with ADC because I would be able to witness and work with people at the top of their game in a neighbouring art form, while simultaneously composing the music. Sometimes the music would be first and the choreography set to that, and other times I composed to the movem...ents that they had workshopped. So it was a really different and unique process for me and I’ve been really inspired the whole time. The show is definitely unlike anything I’ve ever done before and anything I’ve ever seen before, he said. Catch Danny Harley and Australasian Dance Collective take to BRISBANE POWERHOUSE together in the high-octane collaboration, Aftermath. 1214 Feb, 2021 Limited capacity. Book now. https://brisbanepowerhouse.org/whats-on/event/aftermath/

13.01.2022 2020 has not been an easy year - for anyone. It has impacted each of us in very different ways. It may be financial hardship, work volatility, stress and feeling overwhelmed, loss of freedom, relationship breakdowns, cancelled plans, isolation, increased pressure at home or a loss of optimism about the future. Some people may be putting on a brave face, but genuinely struggling within themselves.... Today, on RU OK? day, we encourage you to take stock of your own mental health and reach out to others to ensure they are OK. Keep the conversation going. Be sensitive and be aware, but mostly, be there for someone. Make a conscious choice, not just today, but every day, to check in with those around you. Be kind. Be patient. And if you are struggling, please, please reach out for help. Someone is always there to listen. Call Beyond Blue (1300 224 636), Lifeline (13 11 14) or Kids Helpline (1800 55 1800) which are all available 24/7. You are not alone. #collectivelyaware #collectivelykind
