25.01.2022 Myotherapy is for kids too. It’s important to get their aches and pains assessed and treated to keep their muscles and joints optimal. It’s great injury prevention for young athletes also.
23.01.2022 Ever heard the term crepitus? This is a grinding that can be felt and heard in the knee, especially so if you place your hand over the knee cap during flexion and extension. This can be caused by rough cartilage, inflammation and even small bubbles of gas bursting which have built up in the joint.
23.01.2022 The knee joint is where 3 bones meet: femur, tibia and patella These bones are covered in cartilage for cushioning and shock absorbency: Meniscus and Articular Cartilage
22.01.2022 Don’t forget about your Spikey Balls. If you have any aches and pain the spikey ball can be a great stayhome treatment option. They work on the myofascial system to reduce muscle tension which can help reduce pain levels and improve range of motion. Have you used your spikey ball today?

13.01.2022 Great post by MSK describing what that cortisone injection is that you may have been referred to have. If you decide to have the cortisone injection, a good rehab plan post injection can help address the initial cause of your injury and help prevent it happening again. If you don’t like the sound of the cortisone injection or are unsure and would like to explore other options speak to one of our Myotherapists about shockwave treatment. Combined also with a good rehab plan you could have long lasting results without the needle.
11.01.2022 Whilst we usually associate muscle tightness and treatment with tension type headaches, treatment on the muscles in the neck, jaw and shoulders may also be beneficial for people with migraines. #maweek2020

06.01.2022 Popping and Snapping noises are typically caused by certain positions or movements of the knee joint. Pops and snaps can be normal noises that occur when tendons suddenly snap over the bone surrounding the joint, or they may be a sign of cartilage changes inside the joint. If you experience these pops and snaps with pain and swelling please check in with your Myotherapist.
01.01.2022 It is important to take care of your knee joints and keep your muscles strong. Regular exercise helps support and nourish you joints. Low impact activities such as swimming, cycling, pilates and yoga can be very beneficial to your joints. Speak to your Myotherapist if you would like further advise on your knees.
