12.01.2022 After exploring various options, due to current Covid event restrictions we have made the difficult decision to postpone Aquathon 2021 on Australia Day, Jan 26 and move all Aquathon events to our partner event Splash Wollongong planned for Saturday March 6, 2021. It was an extremely difficult decision we did not take lightly. Aquathon is built around community, we love seeing the large crowd celebrating together, families, groups and mates taking part and having fun. Covid r...elated restrictions make it near impossible to create this wonderful event experience which we know you all love. Wollongong Council has cancelled most of the planned Australia Day activities. With the anticipated surge of visitors likely to converge in Wollongong Harbour on Australia Day, the challenge to meet Covid event restrictions is amplified. We are excited to be hosting Splash Wollongong on Saturday 6th March at Wollongong Harbour and North Beach - this event attracts a smaller crowd and is split across two larger venues. We are working towards creating Covid safe Aquathons and Ocean Swim events that we hope you will join in. We thank you our amazing community for supporting Aquathon for the past 21 years and can’t wait to bring back our next #ausdayaqua 22nd edition in 2022.
