25.01.2022 Threatened Species Day 2020. How far have we come? ADF has been toiling tirelessly for more than three decades to get a better deal for Australias dingo. We thought we had made progress back in 2016 when the Federal Commissioner told us that only his signature was required to have the dingo protected. We thought we had succeeded back in 2008, when the official announcement came, after due process, that Victoria had declared the dingo Threatened. Investigations show that quite without proper process sneaky deals were made behind doors by three persons and no parliamentary vote, via Orders in Council, and the minister Undeclared the status. Something is very wrong with the way our political system is being administered presently. No wonder we have lost faith.

24.01.2022 Dingo Discovery Sanctuary and Research Centre- Satellite Sanctuaries. Expressions of Interest : Do you tick all our boxes?... Each day we are approached by Australians, and others, who wish to be involved in the conservation of dingoes, and who wish to take on the responsibility of caring for one or more dingoes. Our stock reply is that dingoes do not make good family pets, and then we launch into all of the myriad reasons why this is true. Despite that, the occasional carer appears who develops into a hero, and becomes part of our efforts to get a better deal for the dingo in the wild. We deeply value and respect these people and give them every ounce of information, support and help that we are able to provide for as long as they may need. Whilst we have ample space at Dingo Discovery Sanctuary, and resources to hold many more animals than we have now, we also know that the specific care required for each and every dingo is paramount. Dingoes thrive in captive conditions where they are properly bonded with their carers, their surroundings and their own kind to be fully sustained and content. It is not simply a matter of food, space, clean housing, escape proof facilities, important though these factors are. So much more matters. As an insurance preservation and conservation sanctuary, keeping wild lines viable and healthy into the future, ready for the day when there will be safe places for rewilding projects, we also live in constant fear of a possible zoonotic, or natural tragedy beyond our control which may be lurking, such as bushfire. Depite the fact that we have gone to great lengths to try and anticipate such events, like our underground fire bunker, and biosecurity measures at every gate, we realise that having all our precious lines inside one sanctuary site could spell disaster, and a solution should be put in place to mitigate or avoid such. Satellite Sanctuaries is such a solution. Do you have a yen to help? Want to learn just how amazing Canis dingo really is? Do you tick all the boxes below? If you believe you do, then please contact us via email- [email protected] Demonstrate a history of responsble animal ownership Understand true animal welfare and what that means. Have a facility which would qualify for a DEWLP permit (min 30 sq.m. Escape proof enclosure) Have access to large free galloping area, or be willing to undertake long walks Own your own or are permanently settled in your home property, preferably acreage. Do not intend to travel away or leave the animals for long periods. Willing to undertake public education activities as a representative of ADF Understand that a relationship with any dingo could well turn into a 20 year exercise. Be willing to participate in non invasive research projects Be prepared to uphold a code of ethics Physically capable of handling the animals compassionately

21.01.2022 Similar to the evil chemical organisations the makers of 1080 products seem to have all the lobbying ears stitched up - seems like the $ are coming back in, while our struggling wild life pays.

16.01.2022 As its Fathers Day here in Australia we wanted to share a message from Wandi Dingo to his dad... wherever he is now. Dear Dad, Its been over a year since I was taken away from our family, but I want you to know that Im safe, loved and well at the Dingo Discovery Sanctuary and Research Centre. ... I hope that you are still out there somewhere. That youve avoided the hunters, the trappers, the poison baits and the people who misunderstand us. Im known all over the world now dad, and the humans are helping us to fight for the protection of all dingoes. Ive been able to reach so many people to help fight for your safety, and the safety of our family. People are listening. Thank you for being a great dad, for surviving in the wild and for looking after me for the first five weeks of my life. I hope Im doing you proud. Happy Fatherss Day. Love, Wandi.

16.01.2022 Telling it like it fits.

05.01.2022 Previous Saturday - Bonnie is pleased with the new bench that Paul built for her. All dingoes love that Paul and Gale fixed the hole in the fence between the two favourite paddocks, and Gale rises too early for me to catch work pics but everyone appreciates her handiwork with the whipper-snipper.

05.01.2022 To the rescue - World Class Hounds. Getting our cubs to their reserved for ever homes has proven a major headache for us this season. Einstein and his travel companion will arrive at their destinations without trauma. Godspeed little people.
