24.01.2022 Anyone looking for a project? Giving away this Impulse. Complete boat with mast, boom, rudder and centreboard. Rudder and centreboard need work, all ropes, fitt...ings and rigging need to be replaced. Hull is sound but needs a good sand and paint. We were going to do do it up but are lacking time and motivation. Pick up from Lake Macquarie if anyone is interested. See more

24.01.2022 The NSW Impulse Committee have taken the tough decision to postpone the 37th Australian Impulse Championships until the 2021-2022 season. We have decided to make the call early to give sailors time to change travel plans. This decision is due to the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic and extended border restrictions between various states, tougher guidelines from Australian Sailing and the general well being of competitors considering that many fit into the high risk category if... they became sick while travelling. The Australian Impulse Association is in support of NSW hosting the event again at South Lake Macquarie ASC in 2021-22 as we pause the normal rotation between states. As per the Impulse constitution a special general meeting will be held remotely via video conference to replace the annual general meeting normally held at the nationals. Online virtual sailing will continue, local single day events may be the normal in NSW using the RaceQs app and shared online, visit the www.AusImpulse.com.au website for more information. 19.01.2022 Those lucky members in the greatest part of this country are lucky enough to be having this years state titles this weekend at Keppel Bay Sailing Club. With the regatta being held a lot earlier than our normal period the weather could throw up some different results with a few on the lighter side of life already nominated and showing great form. For those that are yet to nominate there will be no on the day nominations to help with the clubs Covid plan. 10.01.2022 Qld states are now finished at Keppel Bay Sailing Club. Congratulations to everyone that was able come and participate. Breeze over the weekend ranged between 5-10 knots which made for close racing throughout the fleet with Andy Patrick and Naomi Young generally showing the rest of the fleet around the racetrack from the start. A huge thankyou to all the volunteers from the club that helped make the weekend what it was. We were also fortunate enough to have Marina Hobbs o...ut on the water over the weekend so Im sure we will be able to share some photos from the race course. The Four Of A Kind (FOAK) Regatta revives the original annual Chelsea FOAK regatta which was once used by VYC ...to set and refine the class yardsticks. By hosting the FOAK regatta Chelsea Yacht Club proudly supports and promotes the wonderful diversity of classes of off the beach sailing dinghies, catamarans and boards that are such an integral part of our Victorian sailing activity. Chelsea Yacht Club continues to strive for the FOAK Regatta to be the premier inter class event on the Victorian sailing calendar. Support your class by showing your class! This is the big event in the sailing calendar in which class associations can win prize money! Bring your fellow association sailors and boats along and join in the Four Of A Kind regatta. Be part of a great day of unique multiclass team sailing. Whether you sail a newer class or an older established class, get behind Chelsea Yacht Club and keep our sport thriving through encouraging your class association to participate and promote your classs unique expression of the sailing experience. We want your class to thrive! Any class that can get at least four boats on the water will qualify for the FOAK Class Championship which will be based on class yardstick corrected finishing positions. There is a $500 cash prize to the class association that gets the most boats on the water and $300 cash prize to class association that gets the second most boats on the water. There are also cash prizes to the class association with: First combined handicap results over best four = $300 Second combined handicap results over best four = $200 Third combined handicap result over best four = $100 Three races for the regatta, First race beginning on the water at 10:30am and two races after 2:00pm followed by the presentation to the winning associations. Entry fee is $25 for early bird registrations paid before 31st January 2021and $35 for entry and registrations paid after this date. Early bird registrations please tick early bird discount box on registering. Registration is free for Chelsea Yacht Club sailing members - CYC members please tick the Current CYC Member Discount check box on registering. Entry fee includes voucher for sandwich/roll lunch and soft drink for each sailor. Additional lunches, snacks and beverages available for purchase at the club.
