22.01.2022 "A FUN FOUND FOOTAGE FILM FROM THE LAND DOWNUNDER"- Just got this review for our film from a reviewer I love reading - his reviews are always fresh and bit of a laugh. Tim: The Shitty Movie Reviewer 444. The Screaming Silent. A fun found footage horror tale from the land down under. Ya know: Men At Work, Crocodile Dundee? That place next to where Lord of the Rings was filmed? Great. This revolves around a filmmaker completing his first feature film and the ...little documentary he was making before things go all apeshit, oh wait its Australia, kangaroo shit sorry. So I think they were going for he's a Stanley Kubrick/Martin Scorsese/Alan Smithee type obsessed director, and it worked. I mean he has his poor producer who's afraid of heights carrying luggage on a six inch ledge on a mountain top. At this point too I'll point out a bit of confusion I had, once in the land down under our filmmakers meets two women, a blonde and a short brunette, they are not the same blonde and short brunette in the rest of the film... I think. The director actually has a specific actress in mind, oh and he gets her, cause his movie is that damn good! So off to the location to shoot, ya know after getting dropped off at the wrong location because the boat captain won't venture any further cause of, well of course there's a curse. So off they go ill prepared into the jungle, I thought Rambo was gonna get off the back of that boat, I swear! So where are they headed?? That's the thing, he's following a map drawn by an ancestor that was murdered and our boy here, is on a mission to set history right. As far as the found footage genre goes, it's decent. It sticks to a familiar feel that they all seem to have, a few jump scares along the way up to the big reveal, which was good and creepy in this one. I thought it looked great, beautiful locations and that kinda stuff. Good job to all the actors who all genuinely pissed off filming in the forest. Check it out! See more
