25.01.2022 International Volunteers Day Last Saturday was International Volunteers Day which gives us a great excuse to celebrate all of our volunteers. There are so many stories of the achievements of our fantastic volunteers across ACT and NSW and I am very privileged to be able to thank a lot of our volunteers in person over the last couple of weeks as I have been attending the regional volunteer thank you presentations where we have been presenting long service awards and also the ...NSW Premier’s bushfire citations I am collecting lots of great photos to share with you soon I would especially like to showcase the fantastic efforts of two of our Emergency Services volunteers, Tammy Jones and Marie Rogers (pictured with Federal Minister for Emergency Management David Littleproud) who were in Canberra last week at the National Resilient Australia Awards. Tammy and Marie had already won the NSW Resilient Australia Awards for their work piloting the Community Resilience Teams in the Northern region and were invited to the National awards ceremony unfortunately they didn’t take home the gong on this occasion but had a lovely time at the event and sightseeing around Canberra

20.01.2022 We really are blessed here on the Tweed. So many areas of natural beauty, 37 kilometres of coastline featuring some of the most pristine and stunning beaches ...in the country, if not the world, remarkable river systems and hinterlands that will warm your heart. Not all our residents can get out and about to explore the area, so photos allow us to share our beautiful area with them, and we love to share the photos that our community captures of the Tweed too. Every Tuesday we will be sharing a photo of the Tweed. Join us by sending photos of your favourite locations in the Tweed, telling us why it is special for you and where others can go to enjoy it in person. Send your #TweedTuesdays photos to [email protected] or send them via a direct message. Today's photo was shared with us by one of our staff members. He captured this one while visiting Crams Farm at Doon Doon.

10.01.2022 We first met Peter and Nirbeeja just after their home was destroyed by the bushfires on Kangaroo Island. For the last year, they’ve lived in a camper trailer, a van, a tent and a temporary housing pod. Read their story of recovery in our bushfire anniversary report: https://fal.cn/3d2ua

06.01.2022 Tomorrow’s anniversary is another moment to reflect. To be brave. To listen and learn. To commit to doing the hard yards. https://fal.cn/3dlRZ
