14.01.2022 EKT CYCLONE PAM APPEAL FOR TUVALU As a result of the devastating impacts of storm surges from Cyclone Pam, the Governor General of Tuvalu declared a State of E...mergency for Tuvalu. The Tuvalu Christian Church launched an appeal to all Christian Churches, Non-Governmental Organizations, affiliated and non-affiliated partners to provide financial support to the Tuvaluans who are affected by the enormous destruction caused. The waves produced by Cyclone Pam was witnessed by our elders as to be the most dangerous and powerful waves they have ever seen in their entire lives. Houses were destroyed, underground waters have been contaminated, and water tanks were cracked and no longer able to store clean water. Intensive storm surges seep through the island and destroyed all traditional root crops. Some islands in the group reveal that they are almost next to a total destruction. At the moment, most of the affected people are still living in Meeting Halls (evacuation centre), and they urgently require, shelter, healthcare, clean water and basic food supplies. DONATE NOW To make a financial donation towards the victims of cyclone Pam in Tuvalu you can send a Bank Draft or Telegraphic Transfer to the following account: ACCOUNT NAME: EKALESIA KELISIANO TUVALU ACCOUNT NUMBER: 01-920859-30 BANK ADDRESS: NATIONAL BANK OF TUVALU P.O BOX 13 VAIAKU, FUNAFUTI TUVALU SWIFT CODE: NABTTVTV Wendy Flannery, Climate Frontlines, FoE Brisbane 0439 771 692 07 3393 2840 (office) [email protected]
