25.01.2022 Today in Parliament, Scott Morrison’s Liberals blocked our efforts to declare and act on the climate emergency while Labor remained split and confused voting for in the House and against in the Senate?! Our government desperately needs to acknowledge the urgency of the crisis we’re in and start taking urgent action to ensure we have a safe future.
23.01.2022 It's official: Labor are supporting Scotty's gas-fired recovery. Send a message, loud and clear, that we reject their dirty gas agenda and know there is a better way: greens.org.au/gas-is-not-the-answer
22.01.2022 Fresh data from the BOM and CSIRO is further proof of what we already know we’re already in a climate emergency that’s only going to get worse. It’s time for global climate action: greens.org.au/globalclimateaction
22.01.2022 A sham 'koala census' won't save our national treasure from Morrison's mates in big mining and development. The Greens will fight for a moratorium on habitat clearing to save koalas from extinction, and work to toughen up our environment laws that are under attack!
21.01.2022 As we all return to some kind of 'covid-normal' it is important to remember the role that governments choose to play in our lives. If anything, the pandemic has shown that when governments want to act, they can. And they can act in bold ways to protect and help people. But our federal government refuses to act to protect our climate, or keep vulnerable people on JobSeeker and income support out of poverty. They consistently choose to help out their rich mates and wealthy don...ors. Across the nation, the Greens will never stop fighting to make sure government acts in the best interests of all of us. We're for the millions.
21.01.2022 Platypus populations have shrunk almost in the last 30 years, but instead of better protections, the Morrison Government is taking a chainsaw to our environment protection laws. We must stop them.

19.01.2022 "I can feel the pain of my ancestors. I am so disappointed that a government who promised a treaty with my people has undermined us and done something as malicious and calculated as this to our community." Senator Lidia Thorpe Read more from Lidia in today's Age
18.01.2022 Guess what one thing Australia doesn’t have that 56 other countries do?
17.01.2022 Tonight we have a historic opportunity to ban single use plastics. Will Labor and the Government join the Greens in supporting our communities and vibrant sea life or will they back big business and pollution?
15.01.2022 The next round of our Greens legends tea towels are now available! Snag one here https://shop.greens.org.au Thanks to the incredibly talented @joanapartyka and the team.

13.01.2022 With Donald Trump gone, the world is now poised to take a huge step forward on tackling the climate crisis. We are in a climate emergency and what we do in the next ten years will decide the future of our planet. But right now, the Liberal and Labor parties are still putting their coal, oil and gas donors ahead of people and the environment and failing to have a strong plan to tackle the climate crisis by 2030. Scott Morrison's weak climate targets have us on a pathway to onl...y reach net-zero emissions by 2300, locking in catastrophic global heating. Help us make sure that Australia doesn't get left behind: greens.org.au/globalclimateaction
12.01.2022 We've secured $50m to kick start green hydrogen in NSW. ICYMI, green hydrogen is an energy source made entirely from water, with wind and solar and it’s essential to our global fight against the climate crisis. This will be a big jobs boost for regional NSW, kick-start the green hydrogen economy and our renewable revolution.
12.01.2022 The government's already slashed #JobSeeker and other payments, and keeping people waiting for months to find out if they'll be slashed again is not good enough. The Greens have introduced a bill to #RaisetheRate for good, and we'll keep fighting so every payment is above the poverty line.
11.01.2022 Could you get by on $50 a day? When the COVID Supplement is reduced by a further $100 a fortnight on January 1, job seekers, single parents, and students will be forced to live off payments of only $50 a day. Importantly, disabled people and carers are still not eligible for the COVID Supplement despite being adversely affected by the health and economic crisis caused by COVID-19.... Here's 50 reasons why that's not good enough and why we need to raise the rate of income support. for good.
11.01.2022 On Tuesday, during NAIDOC week, the Australian Government decided that it's not "appropriate" to permanently install the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags in the Senate.
08.01.2022 Right now, the continent is sweltering through an extreme heatwave. It's always been hot here. But this hot? For this long? The BOM have called it "exceptional." Demand the Parliament act to keep people safe: greens.org.au/campaigns/heatwave-emergency
08.01.2022 Your help, support and hard work make this possible. Thank you so much everyone
08.01.2022 We are growing stronger and here’s proof. This makes me so proud
06.01.2022 Our NZ neighbours are set to take the first step tomorrow in acting on the climate emergency acknowledging there is one. This is what happens when your climate minister is Green Party of Aotearoa New Zealand's James Shaw.
06.01.2022 Australians wanted a speedy transition to a zero-emissions economy. People know that coal and gas are fossil fuels and the major cause of the climate crisis. So why are the Liberals and Labor doubling down to invest in new coal mines and fracking gas? They’ve accepted millions of dollars in donations from coal, oil and gas companies. Now is the time for bold government investment in publicly owned renewable technology, like solar, wind and batteries, and to create hundreds of thousands of jobs so no worker is left behind.
05.01.2022 Can you believe it? Only one more sleep until Election Day in Queensland! This is our chance to transform politics and elect a record number of Greens to Queensland parliament We don't have to accept the status quo. This time we can elect people who will fight for us, not their rich corporate donors, and get more for Queenslanders, less for billionaires. This election, vote Greens.
05.01.2022 One of these Conservative Prime Ministers is strangely and eccentrically divorced from reality and the other one believes in stopping the climate emergency.
05.01.2022 Any political party that doesn’t have a plan to take serious action on the major causes of the climate crisis coal, oil and gas isn’t keeping our community safe.
04.01.2022 Not to sound like a broken record, but we are living in the climate emergency. Instead of new coal mines and drilling for more gas we need real action to keep us all safe. greens.org.au/campaigns/heatwave-emergency
03.01.2022 Queensland, this is it. This is our shot. Our opportunity to remake Qld so it works for the millions (not the millionaires) We've seen it from NZ to the ACT when Labor has the Greens dragging them in a better direction you get very popular, stable governments re-elected to get things done. Why popular? Because they improve everyday people’s lives, create jobs, and tackle climate change all at the same time. Let's make it happen in Queensland!... But we can't do it without you get out and vote 1 Greens today greens.org.au/vote
03.01.2022 Find out about the government’s next big plan: WealthKeeper
02.01.2022 Pre-election sports grants favouring marginal Liberal electorates. Cash from a property developer in an Aldi bag. A gas-led recovery recommended by the gas industry. We need a federal ICAC. Now.
01.01.2022 Tune in from 5pm AEDT today and watch Lidia Thorpe give her first speech to the federal parliament.
01.01.2022 In Penrith this year it hit an all time record 48.9C and it's going to keep getting hotter unless we act FAST to reduce pollution from coal, oil and gas. But under Scotty's energy policies that won't happen for 280 years. Join the fight to stop catastrophic global heating: greens.org.au/globalclimateaction
