23.01.2022 Dear Weather Community, It comes with a heavy heart that we at the Australian Severe Weather Association committee have decided to postpone the 2020 ASWA Annual Conference until July/August 2021 due to the current COVID19 health crisis. The committee had to weigh up various scenarios including the ability for venues to operate, domestic travel restrictions, as well as peoples ability to be granted the opportunity for time off work after such hard times.... ASWA looks forward to seeing you all in 2021 for an even better conference! From all of us at ASWA, keep safe, look after one another, and chase that passion for weather! Bryan Juni ASWA President

22.01.2022 Nick Moir - Press photographer, is our first presentation. Warm welcome to Nick!

01.01.2022 Its the first day of spring! Which means its also the official start of storm season! This means more and more people will be relying on weather radar data fro...m the BoM to keep on eye on those storms. Fortunately, as of last week, the BoM has switched all of their Wind-Finding radars to Full-Time Weather Radars. This means for the people who live near Gove, Willis Island, Norfolk Island, Wagga Wagga, Alice Springs, Giles, Esperance and Broome, they will not have to deal with daily radar outages while their weather radar tracks weather balloons. In the attached map you can also see how many Weather Radars have been converted to Doppler. It is expected that within the next 10 years that all weather radars in Australia will be doppler and there are also plans to install new dopplers in radar black spots in the eastern states.

01.01.2022 A few images from our very successful and enjoyable 20th Australian Severe Weather Association Conference today in Melbourne. All the speakers were really good and the material was informative and thought provoking, food was very nice and catching up with everyone again was fabulous.
