24.01.2022 A small group of ACC choristers, accompanied by Dean Sky-Lucas performed a selection of Christmas carols to a VIP audience at the official launch of the new "Trio Box Hill" development Located at 851 Whitehorse Road, Box Hill, Trio Box Hill, will take shape as three separate towers of 18 to 39 levels atop of a 6 level podium. A new landmark developmen in the City of Whitehorse, with a mixed use design, providing homes, amenities and community facilities, Whitehorse Trio wi...ll be the tallest building outside Melbourne’s CBD, with over 450 residential apartments of 1-5 bedrooms, an on-site hotel, childcare, senior living and a plethora of retail spaces. The ACC Reserve and Senior Choirs are now busy preparing for a series of major performances all over Melbourne, which will culminate with Banyule Carols by Candlelight on Saturday, 14 December and three spectacular Carols in the Cathedral concerts on Friday 20 December at 8.30pm and Saturday 21 December at 3pm and 8pm at St Paul's Cathedral. 19.01.2022 Yesterday, Saturday November 16 was a red-letter day for The ACC, with a fantastic Presentation Concert given to another sell out audience at Deakin Edge. There were lots of beautiful performances given by our Melody, Harmony, Intermediate and Reserve Training Choirs, and by The Australian Children’s Choir. The ACC also presented a number of choristers with their well-earned badges to mark their respective years of service to the choir. The day was also a special celebratio...n of 20 years of service to The ACC by Andrew Wailes as the choir’s Artistic Director. As part of the celebrations, it was lovely to welcome back many former ACC choristers, committee members, music staff, life members and special guests, who had come along to mark the occasion. A special 44 page souvenir program highlighting many of the highlights of The ACC’s last 20 years under Andrew’s artistic direction was also produced, with lots of precious images of former choir tours and memorable performances. A very entertaining and beautifully made tribute film was another highlight, looking back on Andrew’s two decades at the helm of The ACC, which included specially recorded messages from current and former ACC choristers and staff, including Jeremy Kleeman from London, and Amir Farid from New York. A new choral work was (covertly) commissioned by the choir to mark Andrew’s anniversary, and this stunning new piece Moon Flight, composed and conducted by ACC Reserve Choir conductor Daniel Brinsmead, was also given its premiere, having been rehearsed in secret over the last few months. The concert finale was a moving massed performance by all the ACC choirs- nearly 200 children - singing We Raise Up Our Voices, conducted by Andrew, accompanied by ACC Principal Accompanist Dean Sky-Lucas. The afternoon concluded with a sumptuous afternoon tea, with delicious treats, cheese, fruit platters and delicious scones and cream. A lovely chance for people to catch up, mingle and reminisce. Afterwards the ACC music staff enjoyed a celebratory dinner in the city as a well-earned thank you from the choir for all their wonderful work. 19.01.2022 Congratulations to all the members of The ACC's youngest training choirs - the Lyrebirds, the Melody and Harmony Choirs - who all gave charming performances for their parents today at ACC HQ. For many of the singers it was their very first performance as a member of The ACC's training program. It also served as terrific preparation for next week's big sold out concert at Deakin Edge. Well done everyone!

17.01.2022 The Australian Children's Choir were honoured to be part of "Cantate! A Melbourne Festival of Choirs" at St Paul's Cathedral on Monday evening. Co-hosted by The ACC, Royal Melbourne Philharmonic, Melbourne University Choral Society and Box Hill Chorale, the concert was an inspirational celebration of choral music, and a great chance to welcome the brilliant Miami Children's Chorus from Florida, and the amazing girls from Yale, "Whim 'n Rhythm" . A highlight was all the choirs joining together in a giant circle around St Paul's Cathedral and singing together to the large audience at the end of the concert. Congratulations to all the choirs for a wonderful evening of music-making!

13.01.2022 The Australian Children's Choir were busy on Saturday night, spreading some Christmas cheer at the annual City of Banyule Carols. This was the tenth year in a row the ACC has performed at this event, and they again performed a large selection of carols, accompanied by the hard working Diamond Valley Brass Band. It was a beautiful summer evening, and a massive crowd turned out, with thousands of people enjoying the balmy weather and the lovely surrounds of Ivanhoe Park. MC fo...r the evening was the charismatic Bobby Fox. The Irish-born Australian actor who originated the role of Franki Valli in the Australian production of Jersey Boys also performed. He was joined by local Greenborough singer Jazmin Varlet, a finalist on "The Voice Australia" 2019. 18-year-old singer songwriter Jordan-Ravi from Darwin also performed having just returned from performances on America’s Got Talent. The Kazoos also entertained the kids, and there was even a brief appearance from Santa! The ACC now turn their attention to "Carols in the Cathedral", with three huge shoes on Friday 20 Dec at 8.30pm and Saturday 21 Dec at 3pm (already sold out) and 8pm. There are only a few tickets left to the two evening shoes, so if you want to come you better book quickly! www.rmp.org.au

10.01.2022 The Australian Children's Choir teamed up with Diamond Valley Brass Band today in a fun concert of "Marvelous Movie Music" at the Eltham Community and Reception Centre. A capacity audience was entertained by songs and music from movies ranging from 'Jurasic Park' and 'Superman' to 'The Sound of Music', 'The Wizard of Oz' and 'Frozen'. Other highlights included 'Pure Imagination' (from 'Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory'), 'May it Be' (from 'The Lord of the Rings" The Fellowship of the Ring'), 'Dry Your Tears, Afrika' (from 'Amistad'), and a rousing finale (from 'Les Miserables'). Thank you to everyone who came out to watch, and to Diamond Valley Brass for the opportunity to take part!
