25.01.2022 Our #WestNewBritain #healthpatrol has returned from 10 days in Bali/Witu #PNG where they provided #healthcare services to 1000 patients across 5 disciplines. Many thanks to #ANCP, #PNGAusPartnership and West New Britain Provincial Health Authority (WNBPHA) for helping us improve #healthsecurity for #remotePNG communities.

22.01.2022 87% of #PNGs population is #rural with limited access to #health services. Thanks to #ANCP #PNGAusPartnership, last week ADI's #WesternProvince patrol ran #clinics in Nonegire and Surine villages, and #COVID19 awareness training at Hawenai Primary school. #ruralheath #healthsecurity #SDG3

20.01.2022 Many thanks to OK Tedi Development Foundation for donating a 4WD vehicle to our #WesternProvince team to be used on #healthpatrols to #rural communities. Ok Tedi have also provided logistics support to ADI to ensure that #PPE and #medicalequipment reached #PNG frontline #healthworkers during #COVID19. The support of OTDF over the past 20 years has been instrumental in ADI’s successful operations in Western Province.

14.01.2022 206 outpatients were treated by ADI #health patrol to Hawenai in #WesternProvince last week. Cases included #malaria, #TB, #respiratory disease & #diarrhoea. 154 children received #immunisations. Our goal, to strengthen #healthservices in #remote communities. With thanks to our partners #ANCP #PNGAusPartnership for supporting our vision for a healthier #PNG. #HealthForAll #VaccinesWork #SDG3

10.01.2022 ADI's Family Planning team practice #implant insertion at #familyplanning training in #NewIreland this week. Only 47% of #PNG married/in-union women’s demand for modern #contraception is met - trainings help upskill local #healthworkers on #reproductivehealth. Thanks to the United Nations Population Fund Papua New Guinea for the supply of implants.

08.01.2022 ADI's #NewIreland #FamilyPlanning Educator Emily distributing Standard Treatment Manuals to Odilia Timpuar, Natong Aid post, #NewIreland #PNG. The manuals, funded by Australian High Commission Papua New Guinea #PNGAusPartnership, provide guidance for frontline #healthworkers in #remote communities.

08.01.2022 Our #WesternProvince #healthpatrol visiting Atkamba Village #PNG to run #vaccine awareness education. Thanks to @dfat #PNGAusPartnership for helping us promote the importance of #immunization to #ruralcommunities & improve #healthsecurity. #VaccinesWork #access2med

08.01.2022 Since December 2017 ADI have included a #Gender Equity Officer on 22 of the past 31 #healthpatrols in #NewIreland #PNG, delivering 122 hours of #genderequity training to 20,085 rural community members. 48% of PNG women disclosed experience of physical or sexual #genderbasedviolence by an intimate partner in the last 12 months, and 69.8% of women consider a husband justified in beating his wife. It is time for change. #Genderequity education is one of the first steps to improving knowledge on #reproductiverights and #familyplanning services. Thanks to #ANCP #PNGAusPartnership for helping us improve #genderequality and #healthsecurity in #ruralpng and to New Ireland Provincial government for the opportunity to work with them in New Ireland. #GenerationEquality #SDG5 #CEDAW
