The first time I spoke with Dionne, one lovely half of the duo that own Curra Creek, I burnt boiling pasta! Go figure! Such a gem in person too! Located at Curra Creek in central west NSW, they practise regenerative agriculture, growing figs naturally without herbicides, pesticides or synthetic fertilisers. Improving soil health, biodiversity and soil carbon are central to their whole farm practices. Healthy soils grow nutrition-packed produce, enhancing human health and our shared environment. Hungry Bee honey is raw. What the hell does that even mean? Raw = uncooked. So what does cooked mean when it comes to honey? Cooking means heating food above the temperature at which it naturally occurs. Bees usually maintain a hive temperature of 35C. This means that honey is naturally maintained in the hive or nest at around 35C. Before people started managing bees (you know, like back in the cavemen days), honey was almost always consumed in its natural state at either 35C (straight outta the hive) or lower.
