24.01.2022 Practice Accreditation is not mandatory in Australia. However, visiting an accredited practice means the entire practice team are committed to improving and ensuring systems, processes, culture, service delivery and actions meet a nationally recognised set of standards the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) Standards for general practices. This means the provision and reassurance of high quality healthcare and safe practices provided to each patient. ...It is important to note that accreditation is a voluntary process and means the practice team is dedicated and passionate about the level of care they deliver. Its important to check with the practice if they have undergone the lengthy process of accreditation. If it has this status, you can be assured of a safe environment for you and your patients.
