25.01.2022 Why cars aren't permitted to lane filter.

25.01.2022 The AMC sends its best wishes to federal MP Chris Hayes, a long time supporter of our advocacy efforts in Canberra. As has been widely reported in the media, Chris suffered a medical episode at Parliament today and was rushed to hospital. Chris is pictured (left) in 2009 at one of the AMC's events at Parliament House, showing bipartisan support for motorcycling alongside former Defence Minister, Dr Brendan Nelson. Get well soon!

23.01.2022 Earlier today, AMC chairman Shaun Lennard participated in a Ministerial Roundtable meeting - via Zoom - hosted by the Hon Scott Buchholz MP, Assistant Minister for Road Safety. The meeting was to discuss road safety measures for vulnerable road users (cyclists, motorcyclists and pedestrians), particularly in the context of increased use of these modes in a post-COVID environment. The AMC noted the FCAI's (Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries) report of an increase in new... bike sales in the first six months of this year, as well as anecdotal reports of high demand for second-hand bikes. Shaun also spoke about the need for infrastructure that is safer for riders, the importance of encouraging the wearing of good protective clothing (referring to MotoCAP), the ongoing issue of poor data around motorcycle casualty crashes, rider education, and the need for more education and training for other road users around motorcycles and scooters. Over the past six months, we've also been involved with consultation around the next National Road Safety Strategy. It was great to have this opportunity to speak directly with the Minister today. 22.01.2022 We're in the middle of 'Ride Your Motorcycle Week'. Here are some great tips if you haven't had your bike out for a while. And, yes, we know when we promote this great initiative each year, we always get the comments, "But I ride every day/week!" And that's the whole idea behind this promotion - to get more people riding, more often. Let's see some pics on this thread over the next few days!
