25.01.2022 A good story from the ABC regarding some of the many Puppy Scams going about. This highlights how it is not always just the unsuspecting buyers that are the victims. https://www.abc.net.au//puppy-scams-cost-austral/12611646

25.01.2022 Due to the forecast Heatwave through NSW & QLD over the next week, we will be making some alterations to the timing and routes of some of our services to avoid the hottest areas and the hotter parts of the days in other affected areas. This may also include recommendations to some clients to postpone the travel for pets of particular breeds. Whilst we can still operate on most routes with some adjustments to our services the risk to Older or Brachycephalic animals and Greyhou...nds if the vehicles AC system fails plus the fact they can not be taken out of the vehicle due to the big temperature differences between inside and outside does mean that it is necessary to considering postponing them for safety reasons. We will contact any affected Customers directly to discuss the options. Please email us via [email protected] if you have any concerns related to your transport booking. See more

25.01.2022 Update 19/09/2020 We are still hampered in our ability to respond quickly to your enquiries by the sheer number coming in. It is back to taking around a week for many enquiries, however we are working hard to make sure we are up front with everyone about that and doing everything we can to limit it. I think it will pretty much stay this way until the VIC-NSW Border reopens which feels like it is still about 8 weeks away at least based on the Roadmap set out by the Vic Govt. T...Continue reading

21.01.2022 Brisbane to Mt Isa & Darwin, 3rd December We have an extended Mt Isa trip coming up that will now also head across to Darwin due to a booking we have received for a couple of dogs that cannot be flown. We have some spaces free in both directions. There will only be a few dogs going each way. Departing Brisbane on 3rd Dec and departing Darwin on the 7th Dec. The northbound trip will depart Brisbane following trips from Adelaide, Melbourne and Brisbane and the return trip gets... back to Brisbane before southbound runs to all southern states as well so we should be able to accommodate most locations provided we still have spaces. This will be the final trip to both Mt Isa and Darwin for the year. Mt Isa is scheduled to happen again mid January but Darwin tends to be done only when we get special booking typically for extra large dogs that cannot be flown. Also please be aware that this is the time of year that there can be delays due to flooding or heat waves on that route so we do reserve the right to postpone or delay the trip if required for safety. Message us for further details. See more

19.01.2022 Enquiry & Bookings update. 16/01/2021. Hi folks, our interstate services have not been impacted by recent border changes and we continue to operate our full range of services under a freight exemption with a Covid-19 Safety plan in place for our Interstate drivers. But it has been slow getting New Enquiries processed over the past couple of weeks due to Increased Enquiries because of continuous Border changes combined with staff holidays and illnesses. It is currently taking ...Continue reading

17.01.2022 We have spaces available on next weeks northbound Premium service departing Melbourne on Sunday 10th January. This service will be travelling northbound through Sydney on the 11th, Brisbane on the 12th and go as far North as Townsville on the 13th January. It will then return south as far as Brisbane. Our Premium services are Specialty services designed to cater for Extra Large Breed Dogs, BOAS Affected Brachycephalic animals, Pets with special needs or simply for clients who... would prefer a greater degree of attention or feedback during the trip. These are full Door to Door services, more loosely scheduled but with greater flexibility. These trips are done in fully Air Conditioned Vehicles only with much smaller numbers of animals on board, typically 3 or 4 with a usual Maximum of 6. This ensures our drivers can spend additional social and care time with each pet. These trips are more expensive than our typical Express services with the cost of each trip spread between fewer customers. The prices are calculated using a per km charge which increases for pets travelling to more remote areas. These trips are scheduled based on demand with common regions generally serviced Fortnightly and more remote regions being roughly monthly. Minor variations are made to the timetables as additional bookings are confirmed but we endeavour to always minimise the travel time for all pets. You can view upcoming suggested service dates on our Interstate run calendar however due to the nature of these trips changes are made as bookings are confirmed and there is a great deal of flexibility so it is best to contact us by facebook or email for up to date information if you are interested in this service option. 15.01.2022 It’s a big day for deliveries in Melbourne today, the rules are pretty clear but seem to be being interpreted differently by some people. We are a permitted business operating under a Covid-19 Safety plan and our clients are permitted to leave home to meet us to collect their pets. We will be in touch with all the clients that we are meeting to drop off and collect animals throughout the day directly via SMS or phone to keep everything running smoothly. We have 48 pets being ...delivered or collected throughout the day. We have 2 interstate drivers and one local driver operating as well as a local Pet Taxi for some door to door deliveries so that we can spread out the deliveries as much as possible between the various locations. If you are meeting us today please ensure you have available the confirmation SMS or email plus copies of todays SMS messages confirming the times and locations that you receive from us to show as evidence in the event you are stopped at a checkpoint. Ensure you come alone, have a mask to wear and practice all necessary social distancing requirements during the meeting. When at the meeting point be aware that there may be two of our drivers there and other clients. Please wait by your vehicle, do not mingle with the other clients and be patient while the driver works through the deliveries with everyone individually. To be clear, our clients are allowed to travel to meet us to collect their pets. Including further than 5km where that is necessary and we do not have a closer meeting point. If you have a specific problem that is going to stop you from meeting us then you should contact Sierra by return SMS once she has sent you the delivery time details with the details and we will see what we can do to help. Thanks everyone, stay safe.

15.01.2022 Update 13/01/2021: The Mt Isa/Darwin Trip has been postponed by 1 week due to the expected Heatwave conditions throughout the coming weekend and early next week. All affected Clients have been updated individually. S.A., Vic, NSW & QLD to Mt Isa & Darwin, Mid January. We now have an additional Mt Isa & Darwin Service scheduled for mid January.... Typically our Darwin trips are for larger pets that are unable to be flown and where flights are available they may be more suitable for smaller pets and pups due to the higher cost. We do have spaces free in both directions but there will only be a few dogs going each way. Northbound Departing Adelaide on Sun 10th Jan. Departing Melbourne on Tue 12th Jan. Departing Sydney on Wed 13th Jan. Departing Brisbane on Thur 14th Jan. Arriving Darwin on Sunday 17th Jan. Southbound Departing Darwin on Mon 18th Jan. Arriving Brisbane on Thur 21st Jan. Arriving Sydney, Townsville & Cairns Sat 23rd Jan. Arriving Melbourne & Adelaide on Sun 24th Jan. Also please be aware that this is the time of year that there can be delays through Western QLD due to flooding or heat waves on that route so we do reserve the right to postpone or delay the trip if required for safety. Best option through the holidays for Quotes will be the "Request a Quote" Link on our website but please be Patient it will take a while to respond due to the holidays.

15.01.2022 Vic, Stage 4 lockdown, Can I leave home to pick up a pet? Yes you can. Update 10/08/2020 Yes you can! We keep getting people questioning this advice based on their own or someone else's different reinterpretation or because someone called someone and got told no they cant. There was even a post from Dogs Victoria advising that you cant. I suspect that these come from situations where people have asked different questions such as "Can I go out and buy a puppy?" To be clear, I ...am talking here about a situation where you have a contract with a transport business that requires you to go to a meeting point at a designated time to collect an animal, that you have already purchased, already own or are caring for, that has been transported to you from interstate or intrastate. Yes you can! Here is another Vic Gov site that specifically answers that question. https://www.business.vic.gov.au//agriculture,-forestry-and I will post the details in the comments. From 4/08/2020: With the new Victorian Stage 4 Restrictions in place it is worth revisiting the attached post from Vic Emergency. No changes have been announced that we believe change the previous situation. We believe that leaving home to Care for or collect animals is still permitted. The restrictions allow you to to shop for necessary goods and services, and this does include pet related issues. If you are in the Melbourne city areas, where possible this must be within 5km, but an exception applies if it cannot be done within 5km. (For example, if the nearest supermarket is more than 5km away, you can travel to the nearest supermarket.) You should always carry evidence to show where you are going and why. Previous advice is that the SMS you received from us with the collection details will fulfil this requirement. For those in Melbourne that are unable to get to the meeting point, we will endeavour to have in place additional services to assist by delivering to your door, but this will cost you extra and will be limited to necessity rather than convenience. If you are interested in this service please send us a message by replying to your confirmation SMS/Email or email us at [email protected] including your booking ID number and other details. If you have made alternative arrangements and no longer require your booking it is important that you notify us as soon as possible so we can rebook the spot if possible. We do not generally give refunds for bookings cancelled within 48 hours of the transport and we do apply an admin fee to other cancellations. Please read the original post from Vic Emergency and the latest comments from them for the latest info if you are unsure. We will try to keep this as up to date as we can. Thanks. https://www.facebook.com//a.87763484566/3187781967979621/

14.01.2022 We have a special trip heading up to Darwin this Month as an extension of the monthly Mt Isa run and we have some spaces free in both directions. There will only be a few dogs going each way. Departing Brisbane on 22nd Oct and departing Darwin on the 26th Oct. The northbound trip will depart following trips from Adelaide, Melbourne and Brisbane and the return trip gets back to Brisbane before southbound runs to all southern states as well so we should be able to accommodate most locations. Message us for further details.

12.01.2022 Enquiry & Bookings update. 23/11/2020. We are now fully booked until Xmas for animals travelling from QLD and NSW southbound into Victoria. Limited spaces are still available for animals travelling southbound into South Australia. Southbound spaces are still available between QLD and Sydney via our Pacific, New England and Newell Highway routes....Continue reading

11.01.2022 Enquiry & Bookings update. 02/10/2020 While we are still being hampered in our ability to respond quickly to your enquiries by the large number coming in the situation is improving. It is taking around a week for many enquiries, however we are working hard to make sure we are up front with everyone about that and doing everything we can to limit it. I think it will pretty much stay this way until the VIC-NSW Border reopens which feels like it is still about 6 weeks away at le...ast based on the Roadmap set out by the Vic Govt. There are still some runs that are booked up to 4-5 weeks ahead, primarily for southbound bookings into Victoria. The earliest spaces available into Victoria are at the end of October right now, which is actually an improvement on what it has been for a while. We also expect this to remain an ongoing issue until the VIC-NSW Border opens. The image shown below displays the expected wait time for those routes for clarity. There will still be clients that we cannot help as quickly as they would like/need. The best we can offer is to try and answer as quickly as possible with a clear date expectation for each enquiry and we will probably have to give an outright Sorry, cant help you response to more people to avoid getting back into the same situation. All new enquiries will still need to be done via the Enquiry form on the website at https://dogmovers.com.au/enquiry-form/ Enquiries via Facebook, direct to our email or by phone can typically take longer to process. While they are answered in the same order, we often do not get enough info from these to provide a quote without further communication which delays the process. Enquiries regarding bookings already in the system or animals onboard should still be via email to [email protected] or via phone message, these are being sorted and dealt with as they come in and will always take priority over new enquiries. We are also now operating a separate priority enquiry stream for breeders that have previously worked with us. We have these regular clients details on hand already plus they typically know exactly what details we need about their clients and are used to our booking confirmation process so it can be more efficient for us to work directly with these breeders rather than with all of their buyers separately. If you are a Breeder that has used us regularly in the past and feel this would apply to you contact us on [email protected] to receive the new email address and details for this service.

09.01.2022 Greater Brisbane 3-day lockdown We have had some calls and emails from clients regerding our services during the upcoming Brisbane Lockdown. We will still be operating as normal and our Drivers do operate to a Covid-19 Business safety plan. While this is unusual in Brisbane, it has been the normal situation for us for about 10 months throughout the country. If you are scheduled to meet us to deliver or collect a pet this should fall under "Essential Shopping and Appointments..." and would be allowed but please note the following. During the process of confirming your booking you would have received a text message with the delivery & drivers details. My advice would be to keep these messages handy when you are on your way to meet the driver just in case you need to show where you are going. You will also need to make sure you are wearing a mask in public and we recommend that only one member of your household comes to the pick up if possible. We do have a page on our website with further detail for you to read here. https://dogmovers.com.au/coronavirus-covid-19/ So delivery will still be going ahead as planned, but if anything should change we will absolutely be sure to let clients know individually. Thanks, the Dogmovers Team.

07.01.2022 The following updated answer is now also available on the Victorian DHHS site: I live in Melbourne. Can I pick up a pet in regional Victoria? You can leave home to pick up a pet. If you are picking up a pet you should keep 1.5 metres between yourself and others and practice good hygiene, including washing your hands regularly. The Stay at Home restrictions travel with you, so you need to abide by the same rules as if you were at home.... https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/travel-metropolitan-melbourne-a See more

06.01.2022 A cross-border ban is being debated by national biosecurity agencies to contain the spread of the deadly canine tick-borne disease canine ehrlichiosis from northern to southern states. A halt on the inter-state movement of dogs is being weighed up by the national Consultative Committee on Emergency Animal Diseases. "More than a third of all dogs in some remote Top End communities have died after being infected. ... In rare cases, infected ticks can transmit the disease to peo...ple." "Western Australia has already imposed its own internal restrictions for people moving their dogs from north to south. Dog owners must notify authorities of their intentions, complete a dog movement form and treat dogs for ticks before travelling." "Jurisdictions are currently considering whether the extension of movement conditions beyond Western Australia is required to prevent the spread of the disease into the southern states and ACT," federal government officials said.

05.01.2022 Enquiry & Bookings update. 13/11/2020. Whilst we have been limited in our ability to respond quickly to new enquiries by the large number coming the situation is constantly improving but it is taking a few days for responses to most enquiries. I think it will pretty much stay this way until the VIC-NSW Border reopens and more flights resume taking some pressure off the Road based transporters.... There are still some runs that are booked up to 3-4 weeks ahead, primarily this affects southbound bookings into Victoria with our earliest spaces available into Victoria are early to mid December right now and we would expect to be fully booked up to Xmas within a couple of weeks. Again, we expect this to remain an issue until the VIC-NSW Border fully opens. The image shown below displays the general expected wait time for our routes for clarity. There will clearly be clients that we cannot help as quickly as they would like/need. For those that just want a rough idea of cost check the pricing page on our website first and then send an enquiry if still interested. All new enquiries should be done via the Enquiry form on the website at https://dogmovers.com.au/enquiry-form/ Enquiries via Facebook, quick notes to our email or by phone message typically can take longer to process. They are answered in the same order as those coming in from the enquiry form but often we do not get enough info from these messages to provide a quote without further communication which slows the process further. Enquiries regarding bookings already in the system or animals onboard should be via email to [email protected] or via phone message, these are being sorted and dealt with as they come in and will always take priority over new enquiries. We do also operate a separate Breeder Direct enquiry stream for breeders that have previously worked with us and have multiple bookings to place. In these instances the majority of the booking process can be done directly with the Breeder rather than with each of the Breeders clients individually which can speed the process up for us all. If you are a Breeder that has used us regularly in the past and feel this would be helpful to you contact us via email at [email protected] for further details. Thanks, Dave, Sierra and the Dogmovers Team

These are full Door to Door services, more loosely scheduled but with greater flexibility than our more common Express Services. Transport is guaranteed in Dual Air Conditioned Vehicles and with much smaller numbers of animals on board, typically 3 or 4 pets with a usual Maximum of 6. This ensures our drivers can spend additional social or care time with each pet. The cost of each trip may be spread between several customers and the prices are calculated using a per km charge which increases for pets travelling to more remote areas.
