25.01.2022 Good Morning All, As you have probably seen an announcement from the International Downhill Federation that the Asia-Pacific events are cancelled, we would like to state they are absolutely not cancelled. The registrations will remain open on the IDF website in assist of the Australian events whilst we continue to make these events happen, and as we’ve stated before as long as we gain enough registrations all events will go ahead.... Today is your last day to register on the site, and you can do this without paying. So please know we still absolutely intend to move forward with Yarra Ranges and Newtons, and Taipan most definitely intend to still run if registrations continue to flow in. Thanks, ASRA Crew

13.01.2022 UPDATE. Dear All, It is evident the situation unfolding with COVID-19 is escalating throughout the world and locally here in Australia.... As of today, Yarra Ranges Downhill Festival WQS and Newtons 2020 World Cup events will not be cancelled unless the government/local councils deem it absolutely necessary as it poses a direct health risk, or if the events don’t make a break-even with registrations. We are monitoring the registrations closely for each event and we still require more to break even on these events. We strongly urge you to book a freeride ticket (if available) if you wouldn’t like to race, and to make sure you’re well informed on the safety requirements with each freeride ticket. The current situation as far as we know allows travellers from the USA and Canada to still enter, unless you have encountered visa based issues. Any riders from within the Asia-Pacific region should refer to the World Health Organisation website and their local Health Administration for more in-depth details on travelling restrictions. Please, we kindly request everyone monitor their health closely over the next few weeks as the virus makes its way through the population. Thank you, ASRA.

11.01.2022 NOTICE REGARDING Newtons Downhill Skateboard Racing From President Lance Evans. The cards finally collapsed on a staunch ASRA board tonight at 7.45 pm;... Interstate borders closed with mandatory regulated self isolation, senior event officials advised they were not able to attend due to edicts from their jobs or living situations and a bunch of other issues I don’t need to go into. All this combined to finally tipping the scales so we had no choice but to POSTPONE the event until later this year. We are already on the way to Bathurst to discuss alternate dates with Council and to look into each other’s crystal balls as to what size of an event we could host on those proposed dates. More info to come so watch this space. In these troubling and confusing times we wish our community stay safe and mindful of those around us.

07.01.2022 Official announcement from ASRA as the peak body in Australia for Downhill Gravity Racing associated to World Skate by way of MOU to Skate Australia. I, in my capacity as President of ASRA would like to confirm to any Rider that has registered for Newtons 2020, that the race on Mt Panorama Bathurst is still full steam ahead and unless ordered by Commonwealth or Local Government to the contrary will be proceeding with our event as it will comply within the mass gatherings limi...tations edict issued by the Australian Commonwealth Government yesterday. In light of the 2 week self isolation of all overseas visitors announcement made today, Sunday afternoon, it is unlikely that many (if any )international riders will attend but our National Championship and freeriding will continue on and we will deal with the financial fallout from the diminished numbers post event. However please do not attend if you are feeling any symptoms of this virus. We have a long history of running a great event on this iconic Australian venue and will be doing the same this March. The ASRA board is a not for profit volunteer run association and we take our role as one of strongest global protagonists for Downhill very seriously.
