25.01.2022 Due to one of our bulls playing hide-and-seek with us last year, we have had a few early Sahiwal full-blood calves born. Mum is a first-time mum and doing so well with her baby-bull calf.

20.01.2022 21 mm of rain, pretty good and as my mother says, better than a kick up the pants.21 mm of rain, pretty good and as my mother says, better than a kick up the pants.

19.01.2022 Farm check today and planning for what is going to be a dry spring/summer. Good news so far we have a good body of feed and from the steers and mum’s-to-be we’ve seen they are in fantastic condition. #runningcreekbeef #australiansahiwalgenetics #farmfreshbeef #scenicrimtourism #queensland

18.01.2022 We are mustering the herd On Monday coming and bringing them down the mountain. Due to the ongoing drought we need to reduce our herd size further. This may result in needing to sell a few of our full-blood cattle. If you are interested in having a look at any sale lines please make contact or leave your name in the comments.

14.01.2022 A beautiful sight today, the first calf of the season. With such a prominent hump we are assuming a little bull. Day 1 and looking good following mum around. #australiansahiwalgenetics #calvingseason2018 #scenicrim

07.01.2022 Update: This little guy is going so strong! He followed his mum across the mountain, all the way down to the bottom, through the tunnel across the creek, up the lane way and into the yards. #tinybutmighty #australiansahiwalgenetics

06.01.2022 In the 1950’s CSIRO as an Australian Government arm, imported Sahiwals. Under this program their tick resistance, heat tolerance and dual milk and beef capabilities were researched and found to be a valuable resource. Rod’s late father Ernie Richardson, was given his first Sahiwal in the 1970’s after encountering severe cattle losses caused by ticks on their Pimpama dairy farm. And thank goodness he was given this amazing breed. Today we don’t have the exhausting and expensive concern that ticks present to the rest of Australia. Our long-term goal is to fund the production of more Sahiwal on the ground through programs using the original Sahiwal genetics. This article gives some understanding to the threat ticks are to other breeds.

05.01.2022 Our Sahiwal Bulls in their paddock at the base of our mountains. A couple of months more and they will be in with the herd.

05.01.2022 Where did the mountains go?

01.01.2022 Our Sahiwals are doing amazingly in this drought. The cows have recovered quickly, happily pregnant and enjoying the higher air in the warmth of our mountains. #australiansahiwalgenetics
