22.01.2022 This week’s highlight video, again from Unicon in 2018 is Australia v Korea, with the Aussie’s winning the game.

21.01.2022 The 2020 AUHL season started with a couple of team changes. The Wombats welcomed Ash and Dave onto their team. We only had time for one tournament before the Covid 19 Lockdown in March. Here are a few clips showing the skills of the new Wombat team. They are playing the 2019 champions- the CommUNIsts (yellow jerseys). Some great teamwork and passing from the Wombats (green jerseys). The CommUNIst goalies did a fantastic job defending, helping the CommUNIsts to ultimately win the game 9-8.

21.01.2022 The riding may not be the same level as some, however if you thought you had good stick handling, think again. Nils Höglander plays in the Swedish (Ice) Hockey League, if you needed motivation to do more stick handling. This is it.

15.01.2022 The 2019 rulebook has been released. The rulebook has been completely reorganised to improve the location of many rules. There are some changes in the rulebook Some key changes are below. You are expected to have read the current rulebook in its entirety (it is 20 pages and easy to read)... 3 players required for a team to BEGIN a match, once a match has begun you can lose a player (injury, broken equipment, dummy spit) and still continue. Penalty shootout, player must now remain in a forward motion not the ball. Only in the vicinity of the ball may a player touch an opponent's stick with their stick to block them. vicinity has now been defined as the ball within the radius of the outstretched arm length plus stick Raising stick to crossbar height when near your own goal has been further defined as when defending a shot on goal. (No high sticks clearing the ball) How to play advantage is clarified. The referee can award the penalty after no advantage was obtained. The referee can also send off a player after advantage has been played. (check the rulebook for more detailed instructions) If a team is penalised for delay of game, the referee can stop the timer while the opposition penalty is set up to avoid further time being wasted. 6.5m penalties awarded prior to time running out may be completed after time has expired, however in the case of a missed shot play does not continue. Ball drop in faceoffs should be from below the hip height of those in the vicinity. One player from each team may be in the vicinity of the faceoff with all other players +sticks >2m away. A player who sent off for the remainder of a match will not be allowed to play in the teams next match
