23.01.2022 Coronavirus and StGiles Services This article is to update you on what StGiles is doing to look after our clients and participants as we enter the flu season and as Coronavirus numbers increase. StGiles is following current Government guidelines with regard to reducing the spread of infection.... We have formed a response team who meet each morning to consider the latest advice provided by the Commonwealth and State Governments and the National Disability Insurance Agency. We are ensuring staff are fully aware of good hygiene practices and have increased the frequency of routine cleaning to ensure our facilities are a safe place for customers, staff and visitors. We have postponed or cancelled all non-essential staff training, workshops, conferences and travel. We are monitoring all staff travel and are following the advice of the Commonwealth Government including self-isolation if required. Most StGiles services, including the ASELCC, are continuing as normal with a small number of events and group activities undergoing some changes. Current ASELCC families have been provided with information via Educa about hygiene practices and other additional precautions being implemented at the ASELCC. We have communicated directly with customers and participants impacted by these changes. Please do continue to attend your appointments unless you have reason to self-isolate or suspect you may have been exposed to Coronavirus. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns at this time and we will continue to update you over the coming weeks via email, our Facebook page and at your appointments.

12.01.2022 StGiles Events - Breaking NEWS ALL registrants have been emailed and offered a refund or to roll-over their registration. Singlets will be distributed at next y...ears event. StGiles will postpone next Fridays Balfour Burn till 2021 and cancel other events scheduled during the next six weeks including Easter Niche at the Albert Hall on April 4 and Harmony Niche at the Tramsheds March 21. ``With our 250 Balfour Burn registrations and 100 volunteers we have no choice, as a trusted health provider to vulnerable Tasmanians, than to suspend the 2020 Balfour Burn till March 19, 2021, StGiles General Manager Profile and Engagement Danielle Blewett said. ``The cancellations will have devastating ramifications for our fundraising efforts. However, our work with vulnerable Tasmanians makes us very aware of the public health challenges we all now face. Easter Niche was scheduled for April 4. The event usually attracts 5000 visitors and raises $15,000 for childrens disability services. The Balfour Burn was on track to raise $10,000. Harmony Niche, scheduled for the Tramsheds on March 21 was a first time collaboration between StGiles and the Migrant Resource Centre.

12.01.2022 Our team are using Zoom today to provide our Term 1 staff development day while being mindful of our physical distance. The ASELCC team are working hard every day to support our children and families during this tricky time. We are committed to the safety of our children, families and staff so we have ramped up our environmental cleaning, are reinforcing the children to use good hand hygiene and to avoid touching their faces, and supporting them to engage in their learning while maintaining a safe physical distance. Looking forward to seeing our children back at the Burnie Hub and Bee Me tomorrow!!
