25.01.2022 This afternoon I made a tool to set in the door handle recess on an XB-C falcon door skin. Here is the quick test peice from it. Some slight tuning needed for the corners and we'll be good to go!

24.01.2022 Another 41 ford long style skirt done. Just need to make the other one then theyll be sent up north to go on a real cool Mercury!

23.01.2022 Weve now got the Barracuda in for a final prime before paint. Its blocking out nicely considering no Polly was used on this one. This car gets driven everywhere, so the aim is to achieve nice body work without going over the top.

23.01.2022 Now time to test fit to the car. Scribe, cut and weld. No filler rod apart from a couple of small holes that needed to be filled.

22.01.2022 Phil has been busy this week working on the Pacer. Hes been repairing the rusted sections in the boot floor, as well as getting the hanging panels into epoxy.

22.01.2022 Got the other 41 style skirt done a week or two ago. Cant wait to see these on the car.

19.01.2022 Happy Friday folks!

18.01.2022 Some progress on the Falcon ute. Weve been digging into the cowl/ torque box area to try and find an end to the rust. Most of the panels are screwed in place including the inner and outer sill. The torque box pieces are made by Rob at Bare Metal Restos. They are a great product and come in cheaper than we could make them. ... It is extremely important to test fit your outer panels before anything gets welded. Once you remove your pillar sections the front half of the car becomes disconnected from the rear, which will give you major problems down the road if not welded in the correct position. These panels have been loosely fitted, however they are lining up quite well. They will be fine tuned once the car is a little more assembled.

18.01.2022 If you know your old fords, you know how complex their torque box design is. With complex construction comes rust. Not many restorers dig this deep into these cars, but you can see how important it is. If you are claiming to fix the rust, then you better get it all! After removing the torque box from this ute, we found a rusted chassis rail. Once it was fixed the inner sill was removed and a new one was fabricated.

17.01.2022 Knocked up a couple of floor pan sections for the Ute. Also replacing some poorly repaired sections before the seat braces go on. The rear torque box sections have been cut out, had the rust and dents repaired then welded back in.

16.01.2022 Plenty happening in the shop lately! Weve been working on the HR Holden. Because this car is mostly original paint, we are doing the majority of the rust repairs before it gets sent off for sand blasting.

16.01.2022 There hasnt been a lot posted on here recently but there has been plenty happening behind the scenes. Phil from Panel Brothers and Grant from Maclean Auto Craft have teamed up to create Auto Craft Collective. We have now set up our new shop and are ready to assist you in your restoration project or custom build.

16.01.2022 Weve been working on the latest project in the shop. Making a rear quarter panel for a Datsun 260Z. Its just roughed out at the moment and will need plenty of planishing as it has been made 90% with hand tools. Looking forward to seeing it completed!

13.01.2022 The Barracuda has been re primed and the body has been jammed, with the boot area sprayed in raptor liner. This colour looks great in the sun!

13.01.2022 This is why it is so important to remove all the sealer and blast when doing a restoration. This is a seat belt mount. It was missing the mounting plate and the rust was covered with fibreglass. If there had been an accident the seat belt would have failed and potentially resulted in serious injury or death. If you are getting someone to do a restoration on your vehicle, please make sure they are doing it properly. Its not just about having a nice car, or paying for a job that will last a long time, its also about your safety.

13.01.2022 A couple of lower pillar sections knocked up for the XC ute today.

13.01.2022 Fun little Friday morning job. Finishing this cover for an old speedway bike. I wish I could work with aluminium more often! #metalshaping #metalwork #aluminiumshaping

12.01.2022 Now that were in the new shop, weve been catching up on some smaller jobs before getting back into the big resto jobs. This one belongs to a customer in Victoria who had a NOS quarter panel that was chopped off at the front. So we made a new front half and welded it together. This is the first stage of making the panel. Wheeling shape into it then putting in the top door line detail.

11.01.2022 Sometimes you have to do a little adjusting after the panel is welded together

10.01.2022 After some hammer/dolly, shrink disk and spline work this is what we have ended up with. You could go on for days metal finishing it but we figured this was a good place to pull up. The inside brace has been made and spot welded in place.

08.01.2022 Were also working on bringing this Charger Bonnet frame back to life. Lots of work in this one!

07.01.2022 Weve got a fun little job in at the moment. Extending a dodge pickup cab to make a little more room in there. Unfortunately when we unpicked the turret, we found some sub-standard repairs. So instead of just adding material in the centre of the roof, weve re made the whole rear section to eliminate the rust and poor repairs, but extend it at the same time.

06.01.2022 The next step is to destroy it, then fix it.

06.01.2022 We spent this afternoon working on the Rocky Nats Dart. A subtle little reverse curve to smooth the transition between the firewall and floor pan. #metalshaping #metalwork #englishwheel... #prostreet #protouring #refining #rockynats #rockynatsbuild #dodgedart See more

05.01.2022 Phil has been busy working on the Pacer. Repairing some previous repairs on the left skirt and making some rust repair sections for the boot floor.

05.01.2022 The 36 ford body was sand blasted and epoxy primed last week. The floor wasnt done as the car will be getting a whole new floor made. Blasted by Matt at CQ Rapid Blasting.

04.01.2022 Here we are test fitting the boot floor we made on the dart before we turn the side flanges. Still a bit of work to be done before its finished but its nice to see that blank space filled up!

04.01.2022 Happy Tuesday everyone. Making some space for the barracuda to come in for final blocking and paint

03.01.2022 Another Saturday afternoon job done. We knocked up this trunk extension for the Dart. The whole boot floor is going to be simplified to make room for the fuel cell. #metalshaping #metalwork #rocknats ... #rockynatsbuild See more

02.01.2022 A Bit of progress on the 70 Dodge Charger front sheet metal. Headlight bucket was removed to gain access to the repair.
