22.01.2022 There’s just something about children and bubbles

21.01.2022 Pre-bed time castle building with a little natural decoration... Construction. Engineering. Creativity. Perseverance. Communication. Skills

18.01.2022 They have arrived!! I’m so very excited for our delivery from @timbertotsaustralia ... I literally ran to the door, only just beating Harper ... Playing with these Montessori inspired tracing stencils aim at developing hand control and creating recognition of the movements involved in free hand writing.

17.01.2022 Look my castle Mummy Harper very proud of her creation

14.01.2022 We found a great dairy free breakfast muffin recipe today. Although Harper doesn’t like muffins (these are for Oliver) she was engaged in the process. At 4 1/2 yrs old we are looking school readiness. Harper is able to match the fractions and letters (for example 1/2 tsp.) with that on the measuring spoons/ cups. Creating a practical experience for her number and letter recognition skills. Following the steps in a recipe also allows as to explore the idea that certain activ...ities require a specific structure in order to achieve the desired results. While free form play is important for using imagination to investigate and invent the new. There are many establishments areas of interest that require the methodology.

13.01.2022 Playing doh with our beautiful natural coloured powders. I’ve never made doh so this was part science experiment and part play

09.01.2022 Finished off my isolation task today... Two shelves for our collection of ‘Little People, Big Dreams’ books and other items not involved in free range play experiences.

08.01.2022 We gathered up some ‘loose parts’ along side some alphabet stamps I made. Creating a new learning experience out of a regular activity Harper ‘made a cake’ and to Oliver is was a hammer and nails.. meanwhile I had a great time with my stamps

06.01.2022 It’s another raining day here in Perth. Even though we did made it to the park this morning between showers its very cold. Calling for an indoor activity this afternoon. Making it a great opportunity to try our new Eco Water Colour Kit. This kit comes with 10 all natural colour powers and a cellulose powder. I tried to make gel paste with the cellulose but it’s not quite a gel, though still thicker then just water. We also found an art pad which is made from 100% recycled paper. I’m very conscious of the amount of paper that children consume while learning. It’s not a complete white and very thin but it’s perfect for little learners.

04.01.2022 Colour mixing rainbow with water colours. Harper enjoyed exploring the idea of overlapping colours. Although mixing water colours didn’t have the same dramatic effect as paints it was still an opportunity to learn. We talked about why the water colours don’t mix as well. We now have a great opportunity to extend on this learning by playing with other forms of paints. Opening up a line of inquiry to discover why colours mix into other colours and which medium works best.

03.01.2022 Afternoon rainbow plate made easy with pre cut/pre washed goodies

02.01.2022 We are thrilled to announce the up coming arrive of Our Little Avery #3, arriving December 13th. While our family grows for the last time we’ve decided to pause the opening of my education and care service.. Only until the new year until then I’ll be focused on the education and care of my two little learners.

01.01.2022 We had a lovely excursion to our local strawberry farm this morning. Which not only has amazing strawberries but also freshly picked mandarins, grapes and beautiful native flowers. As well as freshly hived honey our fun little morning outing definitely ended in a very delicious afternoon tea
