24.01.2022 Called out to Brisbane Airport for 5 hours today, I knew there wasn't much around but I was hopeful. Saw the EVA 787, the Solomons A320 and the Link SAAB for the first time.
24.01.2022 A few more photos from today
20.01.2022 Went to Alice Springs last weekend just to see the aircraft parked up at the APAS. Here are a few photos, more photos and story can be found on my blog. www.madaboutplanes.blogspot.com
17.01.2022 Late last night Brisbane got another first time visitor in the way of a Aerotrans Cargo Boeing 747-400 but not only was this its first time visiting, but it was the very first 747 to land and depart on the new runway, 19 Right, which opened last month. So today my family and I headed out to the airport at 1.30pm for the scheduled 2pm departure. Not surprising when we got out there we discovered it wasn't going out until 5pm.
12.01.2022 Today is a day I have been waiting for for some time, today I flew out to Alice Springs to visit the APAS (Asia Pacific Aircraft Storage) site. My flight was leaving at 8.40am so I got dropped off at the airport around 7.30am. We boarded our Qantas Boeing 737-838 from gate 16 at 8.12am. As I boarded I noticed the registration was VH-VYF (CN 33994). I took my seat which was 5A. Wasn't long and all passengers were on board, I am guessing there would have been around 60 POB. The... last door closed at 8.36am and we pushed back at 8.46am. At 8.54am we began taxiing out for runway 01L. This was exiting for me as this was my first departure off the new runway since it opened last month. We began our descent into Alice at 11.43am and landed on runway 12 at 12.04pm. Alice is 30 minutes behind Brisbane making our actual landing time 11.34am. Of course with all airports there was a Covid 19 screening process which went very smoothly. Queensland is very lucky as we have no cases so clearing this wasn't an issue. I picked up my hire car and had a drive around the airport perimeter getting a few arrivals. I raced into town and grabbed some lunch then headed back to the airport for my 2pm helicopter flight over the air park. Those photos will follow in a few days See more
11.01.2022 Brisbane was treated to a daily double in the way of two Antonov's. The AN124-100 came from Adelaide and the AN12BK came in from Surabaya as the sunset.
03.01.2022 RAAF C-17 'A41-209' made a quick stop into Brisbane this afternoon before departing for Amberley around 3.30pm, seen here climbing out of runway 01R but not before doing a low level departure down the full lenght of the runway..
