21.01.2022 One of the most exciting projects I've seen in Port Stephens launched today at Fingal. With new all inclusive matting, people of all abilities now have access t...o Fingal Beach. Today there were people able to get to waters edge for the first time in 20 years!!! Access is now there for those in wheelchairs, prams, on walkers, with sticks, in mobility carts - the list goes on!!! Thanks to the Ability Links NSW, Fingal Bay Surf Club, Port Stephens Council and Push Mobility for pulling this amazing project together!! See more

15.01.2022 LOCAL BEACH PATROLS END DUE TO COVID-19 The red and yellow flags won't go up on 15 local beaches for the rest of the season in response to the coronavirus pa...ndemic. "Unfortunately, the swim between the flags message is encouraging people to congregate in close proximity, said Central Coast Council's CEO, Gary Murphy. 14.01.2022 Bondi Beach is on its way to being accessible but much support is still needed! Last weekend, Outback Academy Australia hosted a workout in Bondi in support of ...the Invictus Games which will be coming to Sydney from 20 - 27 October 2018. As part of the day, the group got together for a photo on Sydney's famous Bondi Beach. A wide diversity of people with disabilities were pictured together. Channel Ten News even came down to join in the inclusive celebrations. Check out the full story here: https://www.facebook.com/tennewssydney/videos/1415268325272975/ This was a big day for beach access. Push Mobility was proud to be able to support beach access on Bondi by loaning the mobi-mat to Bondi Surf Club for $0 until 31 December 2018. After this date, the beach access mat will be returning to Melbourne. Waverley Council currently has 10 meters of beach access mat. Over 4 million people in Australia have some form of disability. That's 1 in 5 people. The 10 meters of beach mat cannot cater to the thousands of people with disabilities living a short drive from Bondi Beach, nor is it long enough to reach the hard sand. It would be great to see ramps down to the beach become compliant so that people with disabilities can safely access the beach access mat. Imagine the difference it would make for people to not only park at the beach, be able to use toilets near the beach, get down to the sand on safe ramps and also wheel along the beach mat to the water's edge. We believe everyone deserves access to beyond the car park. Without exception. Invictus Games competitors will soon be arriving in Australia. How great would it be if they could access Bondi Beach at any time and enjoy this famous icon of Australia. This summer, Melbourne will have over 12 accessible beaches with beach MobiMat down to the water. Last summer Sydney had zero. We believe that Bondi can lead the way for accessibility in Sydney. A huge congratulations to Outback Academy for arranging the great event and a huge thank you to Bondi Bathers Surf Life Saving Club, especially Felicity MacArthur, for their initiative in launching this campaign and their dedication to making Bondi Beach accessible. Alongside Bondi Bathers Surf Life Saving Club we hope to host a Beach Access Day at Bondi soon and we will welcome the community to join us in what will hopefully be a truly memorable day. Share this post and join in the campaign to make Bondi Beach accessible! #AccessBondiBeach

07.01.2022 Today was a fantastic finish to the season for our Sharkies Thankyou again to our amazing volunteers for their dedication to the program. We had 37 club memb...ers volunteer in the program this year to support our 23 nippers. Our volunteers are highly skilled, but more importantly understand the importance of having FUN at the beach Special thanks also needs to go to Malcolm and Jennifer Olsson who presented our medals today. They kindly donated some of our boards last season. Also Central Coast Council, who awarded us a grant to purchase equipment, Framing Alternative for our fabulous medals, John and his team of helpers who created the amazing obstacle course, and Paul Kendall for bringing our Christmas cheer today! Merry Christmas everyone!! Xx
