22.01.2022 To our valued Kids Early Learning Centre Avoca community, Our leadership team has been working hard behind the scenes to make positive changes to the current Kids Early Learning Centre brand that reflects a renewed vision for the future. Kids Early Learning Centre has recently undergone a rebrand and in line with this, we are excited to reveal our new name, Expeditions Early Learning Journey Avoca. This name was inspired by the important and special journey children will unde...rtake during their time in our care, to when they leave and are prepared with the skills and knowledge they need to start their next life journey. Although our name and brand may look different, our dedication to providing a positive, safe, secure and nurturing environment for your child has not changed. Our Avoca educators and management team remain the same and we are still committed to providing the highest quality of childcare. We are also dedicated to ensuring your child can explore, discover, flourish and develop through enriching play based and educational learning experiences. You will soon see exciting new signage and other updates to our centre that reflects the Expeditions Early Learning Journey brand. We will continue to post on our Facebook and Instagram pages so you can keep up to date with everything happening in our centre. We are dedicated to maintaining a positive relationship with our Avoca community and we welcome any questions you have about this new journey. 20.01.2022 Growing our own vegetables in the junior kindy room , the children have had a discussions about how they would grow their own vegetables from the roots of the silver beet . The stalk then sat in a cup of water, and placed it on the shelf outside where it would get some sunlight. We checked it after the weekend and we noticed some shoots starting to grow. We replaced the water and topped it up and left it grow until It looked to be more established. Once it had a lot of shoots... growing out of the stalk we took them to the barnyard and transplanted them into the garden. Everyone helped to dig the hole then push all the dirt back in around the silverbeet then we gave it a good water. We had a discussion about how we need to leave the silver beet until it grows nice and big before we start pulling all the leaves off. We will continue watering and caring for the garden then harvest the leaves when they become big enough . #expeditionselj #avocachildcare

19.01.2022 The children in the junior kindy room, senior kindy room and pre prep room do yoga every Wednesday . When children practice yoga it increases their confidence, builds concentration and strengthens growing bodies. Yoga increases children’s body awareness and mindfulness. Going through a variety of yoga poses helps children learn about their bodies and the movements they’re capable of doing. Yoga enhances children’s concentration and memory. One of the top benefits of kids’ yog...a is that the different types of moves requires children to focus and work on their memorization skills. Yoga develops children’s strength and flexibility. Yoga helps strengthen children’s growing bodies and helps them improve their flexibility. 19.01.2022 Wednesday 2nd September is Early Childhood Educators day. This year has been a tough one but we are all getting through it together. The initial feelings that where felt by us all at the start of the pandemic, is something I hope we never have to go through again. Every day, the girls showed up for the children to make sure that they, who to where stressed, had a little bit of normality still happening in a world where our normal was changing. They did it with smiles on their faces and love in their hearts and hid all of their own stresses. Im proud of all our girls and would love for you all to take the time this week to say Thank you for all our amazing educators throughout the whole Early Childhood sector. Thank you Team Avoca Kids for being such an amazing team with work with.

Kristen is 20 weeks pregnant and due to the unknown risks of COVID 19, she choose to self isolate with her family early on. Kristen has decided for the best interest of her and her family that she will not be returning to Avoca Kids. We all are so excited to see photos when her little bundle arrives and wish her well for her future. Thanks Kristen for always bringing your happy attitude to our Avoca Kids Family. You sure will be missed.

Besides hours of countless fun for the children , the benefits of playing with play dough are it develops their fine motor skills, It's calming for children, encourages creativity,enhances hand-eye coordination, improves social skills, supports literacy and numeracy and it is a great sensory experience . #expeditionselj #avocachildcare #playdoughfun

04.01.2022 Over the last few months we have lost a few educators due to pregnancy and moving towns. You may notice some new faces around the service and over the next few weeks we will introduce them to you. First up is our new Trainee Katuna. Hi my names Katuna I am super excited to be apart of the educational team at Avoca kids. My hobbies are building my dream 4wd, camping, gardening, arts and crafts and all things zen. I strive to be a better me everyday and to succeed in my career. I became an educator because It brings me great joy to know that I am making a difference here at Avoca kids and to be apart of their fun learning.
