13.01.2022 The AVRFF team are super excited for this outstanding piece of VR, check it out at the Powerhouse this week! "At the crossroads of contemporary performance and cutting-edge tech, Frogman is a coming-of-age thriller integrating virtual reality with live performance from award-winning UK company curious directive, and developed with school children across Brisbane. Audiences experience the 1995 storyline in a 360 degree VR environment. Frogman will sweep you up in its wake."
02.01.2022 Our winners have been decided! We are so excited to announce that these three films will be receiving cash prizes from our partners Inception VR. In first place, we have the sci-fi thriller Dinner Party. The extravagant landscapes and CGI in this film were out of this world and the film emerged as a sure favourite throughout the festival. Our runners up, Sun Ladies and Inside Manus took on contemporary humanitarian issues and enlightened viewers with intense emotional experi...ences. These films are wonderful tribute to the power of VR’s immersive capabilities. These winners were chosen on three criteria, namely the innovative use of VR technology, originality of narrative, acting and character development and the use of immersive sound and visual design. With such a diverse and incredible lineup of films this year, the judging process was undoubtedly challenging. We would like to thank all of the producers and designers that took part in each film and we look forward to seeing your work in the future! Congratulations again to the three winners!
