25.01.2022 If you are struggling to book a court after work then consider having a hit before work - we have plenty of courts available for court hire from 7am (for the early birds). It's a good time to play at the Riverside courts, with the conditions usually still.

16.01.2022 Its been a long wait, but were really happy to announce that AVTC members now have a chance to get back on court in May. After special permission from MVCC, we will be hosting free courts on these days: Sat 23 May 12-2pm Sun 24 May 1-3pm Wed 27 May 7-9pm... Thurs 28 May 7-9pm Please send us an email at [email protected] to book your court. Bookings will be for 1 hour per group of 4 max, 1 person must be a member. BYO balls. Other T&C provided on booking, esp some rules around Social distancing and hygiene. Its first come, first served so get in quick!

15.01.2022 Our fee structure for 2020/2021 has been announced - and its no change for all our membership types! In further great news if you are a current member you will be entitled to a $20 discount if you pay before August 1! New membership forms will be available soon.

If you do book using this online tool note we only need ONE NAME for the booking (ie one name per court). We will document all players on arrival at the courts on Sunday! 12.01.2022 Good news for AVTC! Yesterday Moonee Valley City Council gave the green light for the gradual reopening of the Riverside Courts. To begin with Damien and the crew at Ascot Vale Tennis Academy will be restarting programs commencing next week (details coming). Member court hire will follow, but we are still working on the plans for that with MVCC. Finally, although junior and senior competitions are currently postponed, both organisations are busy developing plans for competition play for the rest of 2020. So lots happening! Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

12.01.2022 Our often-delayed AGM is coming on December 1st, 7pm! Location tbc. We will be reporting on our first year of operation plus inviting new blood to stand for our committee. All members welcome! More updates to follow, but pencil it in your diaries!

12.01.2022 COMPETITION UPDATE: Due to the new Stage 3 restrictions announced by the state government, the NSNTA (adult) and NSJTA (junior) spring seasons have been put on hold. A decision on whether the seasons will proceed, and the format, will be made when restrictions are lifted.

03.01.2022 Hi AVTC members and friends, Given the current escalation in COVID 19, we wanted to provide you an update on the club and how that impacts our official club activities. We have been carefully watching developments reported in the media and are being guided in our decisions by our affiliated associations, other local clubs, and both Tennis Victoria and Tennis Australia. Firstly you will have heard that both junior and night tennis competitions have been suspended until further... notice. Based on the social distance concept we are also hereby cancelling our final Open Court Session (scheduled for March 18) and Social Tennis scheduled on Thursday nights, again until further notice. Full refunds will be provided for Wednesdays Open Court Session. Damien Ward has sent out a notification that lessons and classes for Ascot Vale Tennis Academy will continue for now, but if you do decide to pull out then credit will be provided by AVTA. If that changes we will let you know. You are welcome to continue to use the Riverside facilities for private bookings, booked through Eventbrite. 02.01.2022 COVID update: We will restart free members-only sessions at AVTC from this weekend! On Saturday we have courts from 11am-1pm & Sunday 12-2pm. Well be hosting the courts and ensuring safety guidelines are followed. We are permitted 2 per court or 4 per court if one family. Send us an email at [email protected] to book your one hour slot! Its a soft re-opening for us so well gauge demand and schedule further days as we go!

01.01.2022 Hi All, As communicated yesterday, sadly MVCC have shut down the Riverside tennis and netball complex in line with state and federal governments efforts to contain Covid 19. This means members of the public and our club members are not permitted to hire tennis courts and no tennis coaching will occur either.... This is in place as of now but MVCC will reassess on Apr 13. If you have any questions please message us. We will keep you updated. Stay safe and healthy and most importantly, stay home.
