16.01.2022 With many Australian students returning to school for the first time in months, prep and kindergarten students may need to 'transition' to the school routine, ...just as they did earlier in the year. In the early weeks back, your child might need support. Some of the simple things you can do to help include: * Trying to make after-school time a bit special, with a snack and time for the two of you to chat. * Being patient if your child wants to blurt out every little detail about school, or clams up completely. * Trying to be flexible with snacks and meals. Your child will probably be very hungry after school. If you give them a small, healthy snack straight after school, it’ll help to keep them going until dinner. For more ideas to help the first few weeks go smoothly, read our article https://raisingchildren.net.au//school-cho/starting-school

15.01.2022 Axel Scheffler, who illustrated the Gruffalo, has produced a digital book for primary age children, free for anyone to read on screen or print out, about the co...ronavirus and the measures taken to control it. He has had advice from medical professionals, head teachers and a child psychologist. The book answers key questions in simple language appropriate for 5 to 9 year olds. It allows children and families to have access to good and reliable information, and the familiarity of the pictures will hopefully be re-assuring for the many children who have read the picture books. The book is free https://nosycrow.com//released-today-free-information-boo/
