25.01.2022 It can take as little as six minutes for a dog to die in a hot car... and on days like today where the temperature is set to soar, it just doesn’t make sense to leave any pet in a car. Make the pledge to be your pet’s advocate and promise to never leave them in a car. And if you do see a pet inside a car today, please contact your local police urgently for assistance.

Even better to receive this update: "Just an update and a hello from Tantor. He has settled in well and very much loved already. On his first day with us, h...e had a wonderful walk, bath and play!". This 5-year-old goofball really doesn't know his size and will happily plonk himself on the nearest lap for a good ol' butt scratch and snuggle. So, want to know more about Tantor? Get in touch with the AWL NSW Kemps Creek shelter on 8777 4445 or email [email protected] to make an appointment. 22.01.2022 Available to adopt: BRUNO In July, Bruno was collected by our Animal Ambulance after he was found with a broken leg. With no microchip, this injured stray was rushed to our veterinary clinic where his fracture was treated. Bruno then went on to spend his recovery in a loving and safe foster home. Months on, this sweet 2-year-old tabby is now all better and ready to find his furever home. Every morning he makes our Animal Attendants laugh and giggle at his silly antics. Bruno... loves his bed and will often knead away affectionately. It's time for Bruno to get his happy ending, so if you have been searching for a lovely boy to adopt then please consider Bruno. Just call AWL NSW 8777 4445 or email [email protected] to make an appointment to meet him. R251000222.

21.01.2022 Help find a loving foster care home for Benny. Meet Benny, a 2-year-old German Shepherd who has had his fair share of bad luck. Last month, Benny was found wandering the streets of Parramatta with a severe leg injury. He was brought into our care and our veterinarians performed x-rays which confirmed a fracture. After receiving treatment from AWL NSW, this sweet boy is now sporting his very own leg cast and is looking for a safe and calm home environment to rest and rehab...ilitate. Can you be Benny's new foster care parent? To ensure Benny's leg heals properly, Benny will need to be cage-rested. His new foster carer will need to be able to frequently help him toilet, and we would prefer a quiet household that won't overexcite him and jeopardise his healing process. It's a big ask, but it's what Benny needs to get better. Want to learn more? Get in touch with AWL NSW via email at [email protected] for more details on Benny or apply here: https://bit.ly/2PYh0Hs

20.01.2022 Storms on the way! Severe thunderstorms are likely according to today's thunderstorm forecast from the Bureau of Meteorology. Storms are kicking off in the west of NSW this afternoon and likely to reach Sydney over the coming hours.... DID YOU KNOW? Pets can be scared of thunderstorms just like us! Dogs and cats have even better hearing than us, and are sensitive to atmospheric pressure, so they are more prone to storm phobia or anxiety. Learn how to pet your safe during thunderstorms here: www.awlnsw.com.au/storm-safe

10.01.2022 NALA NEEDS YOUR HELP! WE NEED TO FIND HER YELLOW BALL! Nala has tragically lost her favourite yellow rubber ball and she is so sad without it. Can you help reunite Nala with her toy?... Nala is a 4 year old Maltese Terrier that was surrendered to our Kemps Creek shelter last month, after her previous owners were moving and couldn't take her with them. Nala was surrendered to AWL NSW with her favourite yellow ball - a toy she takes everywhere. Nala was soon placed in our Foster-to-Adopt program and is loving life with her new family, enjoying regular outings to the park and to the local beach... and never without her yellow ball. The yellow rubber ball was last seen at Rose Bay Dog Beach. Nala's new adoptive family have tried everything. They have searched and searched, but cannot find her toy. They have tried to purchase a replacement, but Nala knows it's not the same... Maybe the ball washed away at the beach? Maybe another dog is enjoying the toy? Whatever has happened to Nala's ball, we would really love to find it. If you have information that can lead to the return of Nala's ball, please contact AWL NSW on 8777 4445 or email [email protected].

07.01.2022 THREE YEAR OLD FEMALE SHAR PEI X NEEDS NEW HOME Meet Maple, a typical Shar Pei girl who is looking for a new family with loads of breed experience and understanding of her unique traits. Did you know? The Shar-Pei is an alert and independent dog. They are extremely devoted to their family, but can be aloof with people they don't know. They are said to enjoy the companionship of people more than dogs, and prefer to be with their owner most of the time. This is true for Map...le who would prefer to be the only pet in the household. While Maple may have the behaviour and overall phenotype of the Shar Pei breed, this unique girl doesn't come with the hassle and maintenance of the typical 'Shar Pei' rolls. WINNING! Maple is quickly becoming a favourite with some of our Animal Attendants. She is very sweet with humans and tries to sit in your lap at any chance she gets. We would love to see Maple in a home with older kids as young children may frighten her. Maple is available to adopt for $350 from the Animal Welfare League NSW Kemps Creek shelter. She is desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea & worm treated and ready to go home! If you would like to meet her, simply call 8777 4445 or email [email protected] to make an appointment. 01.01.2022 PETUNIA NEEDS A FOSTER HOME "Hello, my name is Petunia. I was rescued from a country pound with my 2 babies and lots of other cats. I was so scared that I wasn't feeding my babies properly To make sure that my babies survived, the wonderful staff at AWL NSW made the difficult but necessary decision to give my babies to an experienced neonatal kitten carer and I have been told that they're now going great!... I'm still scared and I am hoping someone with a quiet home will see me and want to foster me whilst I wait for my forever home. You'll need your own car and license (unfortunately I have neither), experience looking after cats and be ready to take me into your home now. I know I'm ready! Please fill out the application form if you would like to care for me for [potentially] a few months http://bit.ly/fostercareapplication. Thank you for reading this." - Petunia
