04.01.2022 Centrelink - Coronavirus : The Federal Minister for Government Services Stuart Robert MP has issued an urgent statement for people waiting at Centrelink offices today. "New Centrelink Customers" who have lost their job or had their income reduced are being urged to "start" their claim online at the myGov. website www.servicesaustralia.gov.au "If you need to provide proof of identity we can do this over the phone. You do not need to come into Centrelink. Your claim will sti...ll be processed whilst waiting for identity verification." The Minister's message for "Current Centrelink customers" is "you do not need to do anything to receive the Economic Support Payment or Coronavirus Supplement.
