20.01.2022 The spotlight this week at the Axeman's Emporium (formerly the Axeman's Maker's Market) is on Bruce's Woodcraft. In this shop you will find beautifully crafted woodwork including salt and pepper grinders, bowls, plates, clocks, pens. lazy susans, treasure boxes and cutting boards, just to mention a few. All the items are crafted from Tasmanian timbers. Bruce is a master woodworker and his work is second to none. The beautiful salt and pepper grinders have a 25 year guarantee ...on the ceramic grinding mechanism. If you're looking for that special gift, you need to look no further than Bruce's Woodcraft. Holliday Crafts at the Axemans Maker's Emporium in the Thai Imperial Restaurant building at Latrobe has a huge selection of handcrafted flies for sale. Keith is available on Fridays from 11 - 2:30 and Sundays from 9 - 3. Stop in and browse Keith's display. You're sure to find something to help you catch the big one.

16.01.2022 Adopt a platypus. Delightful, handmade, soft platypus now available in the Abba Design shop at the Maker's Emporium. The natural coloured one is made from a velvet material and the colourful ones are made from cotton. Limited stock available but more colours available soon. These cuties are approximately 11 inches (28cm) long.

16.01.2022 The Easter holiday schedule for the Axeman's Emporium is as follows: Good Friday: CLOSED. Open Saturday April 20th and Sunday the 21st. CLOSED Monday the 22nd through Thursday the 25th. Re-open on Friday April 26th. Wishing everyone a safe and blessed Easter.

In this shop, you'll find beautiful, handmade dichroic glass earrings and pendants, unusual and unique jewellery including sterling silver, Jan Ditchfield's Merino scarves and wraps and wonderfully warm 100% Merino wool socks made in Tasmania. Stop in and browse this shop and all the other specialty shops in the Axeman's Emporium (formerly the Axeman's Maker's market) from 11 - 3 Tuesday thru Saturday and 9 - 3 every Sunday.

14.01.2022 GOOD NEWS. The Axeman's Emporium will re-open on Thursday the 9th of July. We will be open Thursday - Saturday from 11 till 2 and Sundays from 9 till 2. These will be our winter hours and will likely change as the weather warms. We will continue to offer high quality, locally hand-crafted items for sale. Please check our home page for a detailed list of what is available. We look forward to seeing you. I will be at the Emporium at noon on Wednesday the 8th if any of the makers want to stop by and refresh their stock.

12.01.2022 New fragrances added to the handmade goat milk soap display at the Abba Design shop. There are now 17 fragrances available including plain goat milk with no added fragrance. This soap is made in Tasmania and is a luxurious soap that's made one batch at a time in small batches. Stop by and experience this luxury product.

12.01.2022 This week, the spotlight at the Axeman's Emporium (formerly the Axeman's Maker's Market) is on Marie Ellen's Hand Knits. Marie specializes in hand knits from premie to 3 y/o. You'll find beautiful booties, jumpers, beanies, jackets and blankets. You can also find a selection of doll's clothing. Stop by for that special baby gift. If you can't find what you need, Marie is happy to accept special orders. The shops are open from 11 - 3 Tuesday thru Saturday and 9 - 3 Sunday.

12.01.2022 Hand made 2 layer cotton face masks. Washable and reusable. Made from decorative cotton fabric with plain colour coordinating fabric liner and elastic ear loops. The masks have 3 pleats on the sides and a box pleat on the nose area to make the mask fit a little closer. The first photo shows finished masks while the second photo shows some of the fabric available. Many more designs are available. Special orders welcome including children's sizes and larger sizes. These are available at the Abba Design Shop in the Axeman's Emporium and in the Thai Imperial Restaurant in the Axeman's Hall of Fame at Latrobe. Masks can be mailed at purchaser's expense. Here you'll find lovely, warm beanies, hats, mittens, children's wear and even gorgeous coats for your dog....all hand knitted by Val. Stop by browse through a wide array of hand knits. 09.01.2022 Hello all. I hope everyone is well and using their spare time to create lots of homemade items to over-fill your shop when we open back up. Our Brenda had a fall and shattered her elbow a while back. I'm praying for a complete recovery for her. Please take a minute to give her a call when you can. I have not heard any updates on when we might be able to re-open the Emporium but I will be certain to post that information when it becomes available. In the meantime, keep crafting and stay safe....Amanda

04.01.2022 Here at the Axeman's Makers Emporium, the health and well being of our shop owners and customers is paramount. Therefore, because of the ongoing crisis with COVID-19 and the new restrictions, it has been decided to TEMPORARILY close the Emporium and the Axeman's Hall of Fame. This closure is only temporary until this crisis subsides. We look forward to seeing everyone again in the near future and providing you with the wonderful array of quality, handmade items we are known for.
