17.01.2022 Working with Adani is bad business This climate cooking mine has seen partners pull out as community pressure mounts and fossil fuel projects continue to be bad investments into the future Insurers (AXIS Capital), the big four Aussie banks, engineering firms (Aurecon), multinational investment banks (Rothschild & Co) are just some of entities that aren't willing to work with Adani ... Now the multinational engineering firm GHD Group is feeling the heat 'The ABC has also seen emails from management to staff responding to internal and external criticisms of GHD's work with Adani as well as a list of projects GHD has done for Adani. Two senior engineers at GHD said the company went into crisis mode over internal unrest over GHD's involvement with Adani. They said the issue dominated water-cooler discussions for weeks and was unique over at least the past 15 years, with no other issue causing as much concern for GHD staff. They said the internal disquiet was triggered first by protests outside GHD events and offices in March and then amplified after charity Engineers Without Borders terminated a long-standing partnership between it and GHD over the firm's work for Adani's Carmichael coal mine in August.' This October 31st, let GHD know that working with Adani is absolutely cooked at your local Halloween action! JOIN US IN Parramatta: https://www.facebook.com/events/419490298753806/

10.01.2022 Yesterday, we pushed through the rain and postered around the centre of Bankstown. Even with some spots like lampposts and council signs drenched in water we were still able to get the message out about Power of Country (next week, Sep 5) and the Sep 20 Strike. But I encourage you, if you can’t make it to a paint the town or postering event grab some flyers and do some quick letterboxing in your local neighbourhood. It’s very easy and lightning fast. You can get 50 flyers out to people in 20 minutes or so. Hope you are all excited for the important weeks ahead!

09.01.2022 This past Sunday, AYCC Bankstown teamed up with other local groups in Ewen Park on the Cooks River for the Riverside Scavenge. Thanks to all volunteers that helped run the different stalls and to all that collected rubbish from the river banks. We were joined by Canterbury Bankstown Council, The Mudcrabs, Cooks River Alliance, Australian Refugee Association. We spoke with young people about their concerns about climate change as well as raised awareness about Origin’s frackin...g plans in the NT. Thank you to Josh at Seaside Scavenge for organising a fun and productive event!
