21.01.2022 Ayurveda treatments incorporate many herbs and spices that are used for healing as you see in the image above. For those of you who aren’t familiar with the term, Ayur means life or healing and the root word Veda means wisdom or knowledge. Ayurveda’s first text of internal medicine was compiled around 200 B.C. and the 1st century A.D. titled the Charaka Samhita. Based on the ancient history of India, Ayurveda can be considered the first healing system or medicine of the worl...d. Ayurveda has always been well integrated with spirituality and shares many common tools with Yoga. Both Yoga and Ayurveda are really one practice or way of living, which are derived from Vedic teachings. They later formulated as independent sciences. Yoga and Ayurveda are part of the greater bharata (Indian) culture and should never really be studied or practiced as separate systems. *Excerpt from Yoga & Ayurveda program manual by Mas Vidal - Dancing Shiva Photo cred: Google #ayurveda #spices #herbs #india #hindu #ayurvedic #health #wellness #holistic #natural #nature #yoga #culture #medicine #ancient #vedic #meditation #wellbeing #lifestyle #indianherbs #treatment #spa #massage

14.01.2022 The merging of Yoga and Ayurveda as a twin sister in Ayuryoga. Ayurveda and yoga are ancient disciplines of balancing body, mind and consciousness. They are intimately connected both in philosophy and in their practical application. They are so close together, so intimately intertwined that they look like the two sides of the same coin concurrent and inherent within each other. One on side, Ayurveda teaches the art of living in harmony with the nature , by suggesting proper d...iet, lifestyle and herbal protocols based upon an individual’s prakruti, vikruti paradigm. On the other side, Yoga brings the same balance through yama, niyama, asana, pranayama and the profound discipline of proper meditation. Both ayurveda and yoga suppor the four pillars of life: dharma (sacred duty), artha (success) kama (positive desire) and moksha (enlightment). Historically, both Yoga and Ayurveda belonged to the ancient Vedic culture of India, which is more then 5,000 years old. Rooted in the teachings of the Vedas, the oldest written books, these sister sciences were one. The Rishis were well versed in yoga, Ayurveda, astrology and vastu and they utilized these systems when treating an individual. Thus, when counseled by the ancient sages, one received a holistic approach to health and healing that was comprised of all the above sciences to heal the body, mind and spirit. Over time, these practices were separated into discrete sciences which evolved into specialized practices.
