24.01.2022 I have found myself watching the classic 1990s X files series again... and I couldnt resist using the music into this! (Listen to it with the sound on ) As you must have realised i am ever so fond of star sapphires! Its mystery, beauty and sheer uniqueness make it something truly different How sleepy it seems during the day... but give it some light and it bursts into life! The ray is fabulously sharp.. and it has a subtle shade of lavender. At night.. the more lights there are the more "stars" that seem to appear on the face of the sapphire. The appearance of the star effect is known as " Asterism" is the world of gemology. Something wonderfully different!

23.01.2022 Now this is a beauty! Its 4.65 carats and the most vibrant cornflower blue. If you look carefully you will notice an inclusion inside.. however once this is set its not noticeable. The reason is that many of us would recall a coloured version of an image compared to a black and white version of it. The reason is that colour has a strong appeal to our senses. Resulting in better connections to our memory. When asked whats your favourite colour how many of us would... ever say its "colourless" and yet many join the herd of " a diamond engagement ring" Even If you even choose a 3 carat diamond ring for the "sparkle" There is nothing special in it. 22.01.2022 The fabled ruby! Coveted and ever so desirable. There is always something alluring with red. I thought it would be great to talk about the shades of colour with a ruby Firstly... A red Sapphire is usually known as a ruby. Its not a different variety of gemstone.. comprises of the same Al2O3 composition of a sapphire. Another interesting question is... When does a pink sapphire become a ruby. The answer to this varies immensely. Certain hot pink sapphires are cattergoris...ed as rubies by some and hot pink by others. Theres no right and wrong here.. colour can be extremely complex at times! The shades of a ruby are quite complex as well. From the famous Pigeon blood red to vivid red to red to Pinkish red to purplish red! Its an ocean of red to say the least! This here is a 2 carat untreated ruby with a secondary shade of purple. Its a very rare beautiful colour and unlikely I would see something like this for awhile. So if anyone wants something most divine... found in the sacred texts of most religious books... 22.01.2022 Anyone fancy a neon hot pink Sapphire! This beauty in 2.75 carats completely natural and unheated. The deffinition between a ruby and a sapphire sometime does get blurred. Some would call this a pink ruby but personally I just take it as a hot pink sapphire. Also I am still a bit bemused as to whats with .30 carat grey dull pink diamonds being sold at well over $10k. They dont even look pink. I am not exactly sure whats up with that but I found it utterly amusing. ... Quite a lovely beautiful and vibrant pink is this. This yellow sapphire has a vivid - golden shade of yellow and is unheated. The true joy is when this sapphire seems to blaze away to the sunlight. It's split exactly yellow and teal and the stone has a wonderful glow about it It's a great sapphire for someone looking for something different and yet filled with intrigue. 18.01.2022 Playing with a dreamy little pink sapphire. I just love love how the light seems to scatter with this jewel. And the subtle changes of the intensity of colour This sapphire is 2 carats. 18.01.2022 This is more of a dark midnight blue. 3.06 carats at that. It has a very intense shade of colour. As I have been asked for some darker shades of blue.. here you go! Its quite a treat to see the dark blue and splashes of royal blue glistening away

17.01.2022 A classic blue sapphire and diamond ring with a modern twist. (or is it really modern?!) A cornflower blue sapphire sits in the middle of a white gold setting that seamlessly blends into a yellow gold band. With the diamonds complimenting it all so very beautifully This was actually crafted a while back but somehow I didn't put it up as the pictures were not too great. But the details of the sapphire , the perfect craftsmanship and the modern twist of yellow and white gold together make it quite delightful. Just take sometime to enjoy all the little details about it! The sapphire here is 1.72 carats and it's quite the curiosity. I hope to post some more details of it in the future. But it truly is a sweet rich blue with the yellow and white gold plating along so beautifully!

17.01.2022 In a world where everything is all about what meets the eye right up front it is unlikely that a simple picture such as would gain a lot of attention. However I ask you to reflect upon the years of experience and skill needed to complete this process as it's all hand made from scratch. This is some progress work on a ring being completed with the intense pink sapphire from a few days back. It's all hand made over here. Most jewellery stores and retails stores don't hand make rings as the process is long and needs exceptional skill and years of experience. However, if you want a ring that actually lasts always go hand made. And no.. it's not the same when it's cast. I keep it simple. An exceptional sapphrie and a hand made ring. And I try to add a bit of magic and wonder into every completed piece

17.01.2022 Ah dear teal. You truly are such a wonderful colour! Remember the teal from yesterday... Well this is where it ended up This centre sapphire is the 1.86 carat teal from yesterday and it was completed with 3 diamonds on either side. Also I was allowed to personalise this.. and as you know I am ever so fond of florals... I added that touch of floral art at the bottom to give that very dreamy, floral, fairytale like feel! The ring was completed in 18k yellow gold. I alwa...ys find it so very charming how yellow combines so beautifully with the shades of green. Quite sure its because they are side by side in the spectrum of colour! Also with this sapphire, its more blue green during the day and gets all mysterious with the shades of green becoming more prominent at night. (Scroll to see the video at night!) Emeralds are quite a difficult gemstone to cut in the first place as they are brittle and give a Sapphire cutter an Emerald it would most likely result in the emeralds destroyed and sapphires are so much tougher! 09.01.2022 Hello ladies and the few noble gentleman who follow my work ! I need some help with a bit of research. Could you let me know what your favourite shape for a sapphrie would be as it would really help me get a better understanding of what many of you like ... Personally I am quite fond of rectangles... Followed by long cushions and ovals. Perhaps its the symmetry of the sapphire and how it seems be in proportion to ones finger. I guess I am not quite so fond of rounds as much. Perhaps I get a bit paranoid with the wastage involved Now... The above gemstone is a fabulous shade of green. Its a rare shade of chartreuse. It weighs 3.65 carats its natural and untreated It has a really unusual cut. What do you think of it? I am considering to get it recut. Perhaps an emerald or a rectangle. I am quite undecided so I would like your help in deciding. Or perhaps someone here would like it the way it is. Things to consider following a recut. The sapphire would lose weight. Probably drop below 3 carats. The intensity of colour could change as well... (A different shade of green could emerge!) So please let me know what your favourite cut for a gemstone would be. Also.. do you think an emerald cut or a rectangle cut would go better with this! Let me know. Your choice would determine the cut

So may I take you far away to a beautiful little place for a few moments I shall take you on this journey with one of the most beautiful sapphries you will gaze upon. It's a soft vibrant vivid blue. If this isn't sufficient enough there is the most marvellous shade of yellow going right through it. That too it's cut as a pear. It's 1.5 carats and it's quite the wonder. This is a 2.40 carat square mixed cut purple sapphire! Personally when it comes to shapes I am fond of cushions rectangles and ovals as I find it very Symmetrical with the symmetry of the finger... 06.01.2022 If anyone always wanted a nice large rock.. say 5.30 carats and can look past some inclusions.. this beauty is still around. Its not the best sapphire in terms of clarity as it has an inclusion running inside.. it can be be seen if you look carefully and deeply but its eye clean to say the least and the colour is quite incredible! (If we want to get all philosophical we all are included in some way after all ) Although It probably needs a repolish now. It would make quite an impressive ring or even a pendant. Its not for everyone of course... But he does have a lot of character!

05.01.2022 Shimmering of subtle light across this perfectly cut Tsavorite. Notice the clarity. Its an incredibly perfect jewel to say the least Its 1.65 carats however its a true wonder. Neither is it a forest green and neither is it a minty or an emerald green. Extremely unique in its own way. Perhaps reflections of the trees in a pool of water in a rainforest!

05.01.2022 So! Today was spent sorting out some stones and I got all excited with this new little wooden treasure box. I am utterly fascinated by the wooden finish and the Charming lock. Filled it up with a few sapphires as well to get the whole "how would it feel to find a treasure chest" vibe. Anyone else find the treasure chest a bundle of happiness? 02.01.2022 This is probably one of our finest designs. It took my love for florals and poetry and was made into a fine piece of art. This was made some time ago for a wonderful friend of mine thus I dont have many pictures as I wasnt active on social media. The pictures dont do this majesty justice! The centre stone holds a 3 carat royal blue sapphire. Complimented by the most fabulous pear, marquee and round diamonds bringing the majesty of the centre royal blue sapphire. Micro ...pave diamonds complete the half eternity setting. I think its time to bring this out again.. it doesnt have to be such a large centre sapphire of course. 02.01.2022 Don't they make quite the couple! Two really beautiful Emerald cut teal sapphires. The one on the left is more green and the one on the right more blue. The two of them along with the leaves whisk you away to a world of green! I just love how they seem to glow. Such subtle shades of colour and yet none of them lack beauty in the least. Seafoam on the left and more an Aquamarine shade of colour on the right. A lovely blend of blue and green. Both are above 2 carats. Would make a really pretty pendant as well coming to think of it.
