25.01.2022 CYCLONE SMILES A lot of people have expressed concern for how homeless people and out-of-towners are faring in the wild weather in Broome. The good news is ...the local police are scouring the streets, delivering people to the safety of the Cyclone Evacuation Shelter at Cable Beach Road East. Staff from the Department of Communities are pulling an all-nighter supervising the gymnasium. Its heart-warming to see, and we hope everyone gets a good nights sleep! WA Police

Key Points: - its open on Cable Beach Road from 5pm Monday 6th Jan. - people can bring bedding, childrens toys, food, medication and other essential items. - alcohol and illicit substances are banned. - people with pets are encouraged to find a safe place for them to be cared for, but they can be brought to the shelter if theres no other option available. 16.01.2022 8 NEW CORONAVIRUS CASES CONFIRMED IN REGIONAL WA The new cases confirmed overnight are: 4 in the South West... 1 in the Kimberley 1 in the Wheatbelt 1 in the Great Southern 1 in the Pilbara The total number of new cases in WA is 30, taking the States total to 205. Of the 30 new cases, 18 are males and 12 are females between the ages of 21 and 80. 5 of the new cases are from cruise ships and of WAs total cases are directly linked to cruise ships. The Vasco de Gama cruise ship is due in Fremantle on Friday, with 800 Australians, including 200 West Australians, on board. Those passengers will be immediately transferred to Rottnest Island for 14 days of self-isolation. The remaining foreign nationals will be kept on board the ship until arrangements for their departure out of Australia have been made.

We have delivered some coats and jumpers to an elderly couple this morning, and we have limited transport, so if you could take items to people living on the streets we would greatly appreciate your help.
