12.01.2022 Invited by The Australian Furniture Association to participate at their two day Conference, held in Melbourne's famous Exhibition Hall, I enjoyed discussing the pros and cons of making a living as a furniture designer, designer/manufacturer. The Conference took place in the Famous Exhibition Hall. A beautiful building with soaring arched ceilings, glorious windows, and great examples of decorative period detailing in different textures and colours. I enjoyed talking to the F...urniture design students from RMIT and the many lecturers, heads of departments etc from various interstate educational institutions who had come together to look at what needs to change to create a viable future in design and manufacturing. The exhibition held in the main hall, brought together past and present designers works and manufacturers items of furniture. I also enjoyed walking through the exhibition with Neale Whitaker (Belle's Editor in Chief) looking at all the exhibits which had been so carefully researched and curated by Scott - to be congratulated together with Patrizia Torelli, the AFA's CEO. 03.01.2022 Its fifty years since I came to Australia. It is nearly forty years since I became an Australian citizen. I feel doubly honoured and triply blessed to have this acknowledgment from my chosen country in being awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia in the General Division for service to interior design and Australian cuisine as an author. This portrait was taken at Lewis Morley's Memorial at the AGNSW in 2013. We - myself at the front with Lewis's son, my family and close friends - could not resist remembering him with a Keeler line-up in the famous pose and on the famous chair.
