Check on a mate, a colleague, a neighbour or a loved one today 2020 has been a challenging year for everyone and circumstances have made it even more important for us all to stay connected and, for those who are able, be willing to support those around us. The message for R U OK?Day 2020 is ‘There’s more to say after R U OK?’ We all need to know what to say when someone says they’re not OK and guide them through how they can continue a conversation that could change a life. 11.01.2022 Industrial Skills fun at BSS: Today we held the very first Babinda State School Moto GP1200. During the course of this term Industrial skills year 12's mounted 2 stroke bike engine kits onto mountain bike frames. Once all engines were installed, tested and tuned, riders practiced running starts and rider change over techniques. The race is a Le Mans start (riders run to their bikes), run the bike down the cricket pitch to start the engines and complete two laps of the schoo...l running track (600 metres). The first rider then pits the bike on the cricket pitch to change drivers all the while trying to keep the engine running. The second rider then completes a further 2 laps (600 metres) and brings the machine home down the 100m finish line. Results for the very first Babinda Moto GP1200 were: 1st place - Cameron Wilkins and Andrew Paxton 2nd place - Adric Gorman and Liam Bailey 3rd place - Liam Connell and Andre Villari There were no major breakdowns to report and the event was so successfull that next year we endeavour to bring the competition back!
