17.01.2022 Well after nearly a month of kerfuffle babushkalounge.com is finally up and running again... just in time to be taken down in a month, grrrr!! Any musos who have been struggling to get through I'm really sorry, the email went down as well.

17.01.2022 Hi everyone. As some of you know Babushka will be calling it a day after nearly 6 years and hundreds of great musicians passing through our little bar. Running a live music venue comes with its share of challenges, and I wasn't sure if I'd be able to pull it off... in fact I never would have survived this long without a lot of help, particularly from the musos themselves, my friends, and everyone who helped us by donating for our licence etc. when I was under immense financia...l pressure. Ultimately it's been a fantastic adventure, and despite not being a raving financial success, it's nevertheless made its contributions... I've met some of the most amazing people in my life and made some great friends. I hope I've added to the town's history of live music in some small way, provided a great sounding little room for brilliant artists and helped some people create good memories. That's what I'm taking away with me. The next few months will see some of the acts we know and love returning to say farewell, and though the exact date isn't yet known, I'm preparing to turn the page on a wonderful chapter in my life. Thankyou to everyone who's been a part of Babs, and if small music venues manage to survive in this increasingly conservative and mercenary world, I hope to see you at a gig somewhere. xxx

15.01.2022 Congratulations to Suttons for having a smashing sendoff last week. This week it's Babushka's turn... our community is a bit smaller, but it's equally loved, so I hope to see lots of familiar faces to say thankyou and goodbye to on one of our days or evenings. Tonight is a mix of local musos that have been staunch supporters of the local scene, kicking off around 6pm. Friday we have a farewell gig by Singers of the Black Book, also kicking off early at 6pm, followed by Steve Tyson & The Train Rex in the evening. Sat is our Gold Ticket night, a private event for some close friends, and Sunday is the last day from 2pm, with The Vests, Glenn Musto and special guest Penny Bohan. Come and be merry with us one last time, for auld lang syne. X
