23.01.2022 Ok here we go - so being an outdoor fitness group we have a lower chance of transmission of disease. We should not panic, yet we should still practice safe hygiene given the current situation. I therefore ask the following: We will avoid using exercise mats where possible. You can use your own towel instead or bring your own mats. All exercise mats that do need to be used will be disinfected between sessions.... If you do need to use a mat please use the SAME mat for the entire session. Please bring some hand sanitizer or hand soap to wash hands immediately before and after classes. Inners MUST be worn for boxing gloves as always and gloves, inners and wraps should be supplied by you. If you have your own gloves I advise you use them. If you have been in contact with an infected person it goes without saying please adhere to the quarantine/isolation guidelines If you have traveled recently please follow the quarantine/isolation guidelines. If you feel unwell and have symptoms please seek GP advice before coming back to class. I know all this goes without saying really but I do have a responsibility to inform people. Thanks everyone! 08.01.2022 RUNNERS warm up! As I tell people time and time again 80% of your bodys power is FROM YOUR HIPS. So it makes sense that if you are a runner or play sport you should be doing these exercises in both warm up and cool down. This routine will engage every muscle, open the hips and release the lower back for best performance and injury prevention. Here is my warm up routine: 5 x slow frogs (focusing on opening up the hip gurdle)... Hip swings - to stretch and warm up both posterior and anterior chain including hip flexors, hamstrings, calves 30s Forward to reverse Bear crawls to engage EVERY muscle, joint, ligament Kicksits to open hip, release the lower back and warm up trunk rotates as well as increasing the heart rate.
