It’s how we manage those obstacles, how we choose to respond, what we learn and how we re-phrase and re-set that builds true strength. Monica lost a total of 34cm and continues to stay in touch and share further progress. Here’s what Monica was happy to share....... My HBT journey has been up and down. I’ve had a lot of personal thinks happen in the past 12 months, throw in injuries and covid19. Injury prevented me and still prevents me from doing a lot of things but it hasn’t stopped me walking. I love going bush with my dog and just enjoying the view. You can’t be down when you are overlooking the hills and think man it’s good to be alive. I am mindful of what I eat and have really grasped the lifestyle of if it fits your macros. It’s been a roller coaster but I always come back to what Renee has taught me. I think its at the stage now where its practically unavoidable and so I share this to remind you of the power you possess. Im no medical expert and I will never give medical advice-what I do know is that a healthy outside starts from a healthy inside. Along with following all the common hygiene and co...ntact precautions, look at what you are putting in your body. Every time you eat, you are either feeding disease, or fighting it. Every time you eat is an opportunity to nourish yourself and provide support to your immune system. We cant control everything, but we can control what we put in our body. Choose nutritious and more wholesome foods. Give yourself a step up against whatever this current issue may throw your way. Did you ever realise how much your body loves you? 14.01.2022 As we enter into Victorias Lockdown 2.0, it can effect us in a multitude of ways. While it can be scary and stressful, there are so many things we can do to help look after ourselves. Self care looks different to us all, here are some suggestions on self care during this time- ... Establish a routine as much as you can. Plan your work/study hours and makes sure to take regular breaks to stand and stretch, as well as being consistent with giving yourself proper meal breaks - remove yourself from your workstation - go out and get some fresh air if you can. Set some good sleep habits - wake up and go to bed at a consistent time, as well as maintain a healthy bed-time routine to help your body recognise it is wind-down time. Schedule regular exercise. Aim for 30 minutes a day - outside if you can! A walk, run, bike ride or body weight session are all ideas you can achieve without your regular gym! If you would like a tailored 6-week workout guide - REACH OUT!! Meditate - even for 5-10 minutes a day to start with! Keep an eye on your nutrition. Try and stick to the 80% wholefoods / 20% soul foods rule, and make sure you keep hydrated with at least 2.5L of water a day! Keep track of caffeine and alcohol intake! Monitor your time spent on social media and news coverage. Set a limit for yourself, so that you can keep well informed without being super saturated! Keep in touch with family and friends - FaceTime is your new best friend! Remind yourself this is not your forever situation. #wereallinthistogether
