25.01.2022 We would like to thank the community for their generous offers of support and assistance, and to all who have dropped off food and other supplies to our station over the past week. We’re extremely grateful for your generosity, it has definitely kept our crews fed and watered. However, with the weather predicted to cool down over the next few days we won’t be manning the station and have crews to feed. For the time being please don’t drop more food or supplies at our station,... we would hate for it to go to waste. Thank you again for your amazing support.

24.01.2022 With a number of local football leagues cancelled for the year, here is a bit of a blast from the 70’s. Unfortunately, Victoria Police took home the trophy on this occasion. Thanks Diane Walker for supplying the photo.

23.01.2022 As the temperature heats up again today a Total Fire Ban is in place for East Gippsland.

20.01.2022 What’s on your list of things to do at home today? Don’t forget to add checking your smoke alarm! #stayhome

19.01.2022 May the fourth is a special day for firefighters and it’s not because they are all Star Wars fans. It’s because it is International Firefighters Day and the feast day of the patron saint of firefighters, St. Florian. It’s an opportunity for us to recognise the invaluable work of firefighters around the globe and remember the sacrifice of 79 CFA firefighters who have died in the line of duty.

17.01.2022 At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them. Lest we forget. Photo credit: Phillip Wood

14.01.2022 Exciting times ahead with the construction of the new Bairnsdale Fire Station commencing this week. After a number of years of advocacy and planning it is great to see the project started and all going well it should be completed by the end of the year. Sadly, it will also mean that we move away from our Main Street station, a site we have occupied for 93 of our 141 year history.

11.01.2022 Congratulations to former Bairnsdale Fire Brigade member and Lieutenant Craig Freshwater on being appointed Captain of Caroline Springs Fire Brigade. Following the recent implementation of the State’s fire service reforms, Craig becomes the brigade’s first Captain in nearly 20 years. Well done Craig. https://news.cfa.vic.gov.au/-/caroline-springs-elects-first

07.01.2022 A quick message from the Bairnsdale Captain: Due to the high humidity the expected spotting has been delayed so get some rest and be ready for when the temperature rises later this morning.

05.01.2022 COMMUNITY INFORMATION: On Wednesday 29th April 2020 at 5:40pm the Bairnsdale Fire Brigade, along with a number of other brigades across the state, will be sounding the station siren four times as a mark of respect to the four Victoria Police officers who tragically lost their lives in the line of duty last week. There is no reason to be concerned or alarmed should you hear one or more sirens sounding tomorrow at 5:40pm.... #emergencyservicesfamily #victoriapolice #cfa #weworkasone
