12.01.2022 Podcast Episode 23: Bream on Bait in Winter! This week on the Podcast we are back in the studio and focus our attention on the humble bream - the species that ...kicked off both of our fishing 'apprenticeships'. We dive into the nuances of chasing bream in winter, and in particular, how to do so using a small hook and a strip of well-presented bait. We discuss everything from where you should be fishing, what hook size and baits you should be buying, the time of the day to be on the water, and as always, finish with a few classic stories of how the mighty bream taught us a few basic lessons as kids which set us up for much bigger prospects in the future. All that and more on this weeks episode of the Reel Action Fishing Podcast! PENN Fishing Berkley Fishing PIRTEK BCF - Boating, Camping, Fishing Sea-Doo Valvoline Alfabs Group

09.01.2022 I live on the foreshore at White Beach and I used to sleep in the front bedroom with the view, but I have had to move to the back room because of the noise and... lights of the fish farm. I don’t want to be petty, but it can really stress you out. You can really tell when the new huge wellboat is in use, it looks like a cruise ship at night, and the sound reverberates in my chest. I’ve called the EPA about 20 times to complain about noise and light, and water quality changes but I never hear anything back. I used to have a brilliant view of the Hartz Mountains at sunset but I can’t see it anymore with the constant flashing beacon from the farm. I go down my boat shed every day, and there is endless amounts of rubbish. I’ve picked up huge ropes and pipes. I was out in my boat recently, and actually hit a huge pipe. It nearly rolled us. This happens to me once a year on average. Blocks of land are for sale on Apex Point, and I know at least 2 people who have decided to not buy there because of the noise and light disturbance. How is this affecting real estate in the area? As a recreational fisher, having the salmon farm expanding sucks. Behind Wedge Island is my little spot. It’s a prime King Flathead spot, they come in every year to spawn. Those are our local fishing grounds. What are we supposed to do when the expansion happens? - Marty, White Beach Resident. #savetassieswildcoasts #marineprotection #sveouroceans #keeptassiewild #salmon
