24.01.2022 Thank you for your continued focus on your Pilates practise and STRENGTHENING YOUR IMMUNITY! It has been an interesting few weeks and with the media and also our social media avenues, it can be a little confusing. Choose to do your own research. For all updates on the Covid-19 Virus please always refer to the following website. Aiming to only absorb the right information and be informed, prepared and avoid panic...... https://www.health.gov.au/healt/novel-coronavirus-2019-ncov SAFETY and HYGIENE is our focus. Balanced Pilates will be increasing our cleaning procedures on all props. Please find our antibacterial spray at the front of class to be used after each use of equipment and all equipment will also be washed regularly in soapy water. We suggest you do the same at home to keep your mat fresh! We always encourage the best option of keeping up with your HEALTH and WELLBEING, specifically for us is keeping our bodies active. Although if you are feeling unwell, please take the appropriate precautions, looking after yourself and others around you. Please keep in touch with me and we can make a plan for your make up Pilates classes. The best thing to do right now is take responsibility for your well being and stay positive. All of this will have a better effect on your IMMUNE SYSTEM. Making sure you are eating well and getting sufficient sleep too!! 23.01.2022 Balanced Pilates is excited to announce... WE ARE BACK!! ~ Our 10 week block of Pilates classes starts this week! ~ We are able to start classes back at our BELDON LOCATION! Thank you for being so patient. There are a lot of you that I am looking forward to seeing in class and a big thank you to those that have braved the beautiful, fresh outdoors to continue with your Pilates practice or 1 on 1 training!... The next month is looking up for Australia and especially WA! With restrictions lifting and also seeing family and friends have a little more appreciation for this beautiful part of the world we live in is just THE BEST. Our little Airlie turns 1 in a couple of weeks too!! Where has that time gone?! As we are restricted with the times we can attend indoors at Beldon, there will be a couple of classes still running in the park at Mullaloo. This will change in the next 'phase' of WA restrictions lifting. 04.01.2022 Hi everyone I hope everyone has been making the most of some slower times and most importantly supporting those around you as much as possible. We are feeling very lucky to be living in our beautiful, isolated WA right now but still thinking of others around the world. From Monday the 18th of May, WA will be heading into phase 2 of easing restrictions and safely heading back into normal life.... I will update everyone with our plan to be back indoors ASAP. In the meantime, we have some outdoor classes running and it feels great to be out in the fresh air with plenty of space between our mats. 01.01.2022 BONE BROTH Reposting a recipe I posted a little while ago.. . This time I have made it with chicken and thought it was a good time to repost. I hope everyone is aiming to add little things into your routine to boost your immunity in these uncertain and stressful times! ... There are so many warm, nourishing foods we love. The healing BONE BROTH is a great addition to your weekly nutrition! Replace your morning coffee, enjoy as a snack or use as a base for soups and other meals. I've tried a few different recipes, and there are many different options with adding the spices or veggies you love for flavour. Here is a good example to get you started... 1kg organic bones (beef marrow or chicken carcasses) 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar 1 onion 2-4 carrots, chopped 2-4 celery sticks, chopped 1.5 L of filtered water (or to cover all ingredients) *spices of your choice - garlic, thyme, oregano, parsley* Method... - Roast bones for 40 minutes on 180 degrees with the spices you love, turning half way through (roasting first will bring out the flavour!) - Place the bones in a slow cooker with all the other ingredients, fill to the top with filtered water and simmer on LOW for 24 to 48 hours - Remove the larger peices and strain over the broth the make sure you get all the liquid - Transfer your broth into individual jars or containers - The broth will last for around 5 days in the fridge or freeze and bring out as needed! - Reheat the broth to consume and add salt and pepper to your liking! *Once the broth is fully cooled, it will become thick and gelatinous. You can even remove some of the fat that forms at the top and store in the fridge for cooking!* Simmering the bones for 24 to 48 hours, collagen and many healing compounds are broken down and released into the broth. This supplies it with nourishing protein, antioxidants and amino acids - great for a healthy gut, improving joint health and boosting your immune system! Enjoy! Tanya x
