25.01.2022 WHY BALANCE THERAPEUTICS MOBILE MASSAGE? Not only are massages from BTMM an effective and relaxing experience, they are also one of the most convenient and affordable massage services in the Geelong region. Through plenty of manual therapy training and experience, Liam has developed a unique massage skill set which will leave your muscles and joints feeling blissful and free. And while the majority of massages around Geelong are upwards of $90/hour and require you to travel, BTMM massages are only $70/hour and you dont have to travel anywhere! So avoid the unnecessary stress of travel and book your next massage with BTMM by calling 0499 599 531, online at www.balancetmm.com.au or via Facebook Messenger.

24.01.2022 I randomly saw this graphic while scrolling through my feed just now. I think its a great representation of our modern quick fix culture around our health and wellbeing. This is why we see so many weight loss companies with their lose x kilos in y weeks! marketing material, or pain relief medications claiming their product will give the fastest, best relief, or supplement companies with mottos like shred the fat away and watch the muscle pile on. We want it, and we w...ant it yesterday. When it comes to your health, theres never a magical solution that will fix your problems in the snap of your fingers. It will take a much more steady, controlled approach to numerous aspects of your life, and the results arent always going to suddenly appear in the first week either. Whether your goal is decreasing pain, losing weight, building muscle or something else, you have to buy in to the advice you receive from professionals with actual qualifications (not from that article you read on Facebook). I have so many amazing clients who are fun to work with and have come to me with musculoskeletal issues (eg sore lower back), but as much as I would love to see them every week to help their bodies feel better, Id much rather see them less frequently and feeling better over time by adjusting their lifestyle appropriately in conjunction with treatment. As I often say to my clients, if I see you for one hour each week, there are still 167 hours in the rest of the week for you to help yourself which will make just as much of a difference. Have you done your daily stretches? Did you stop twisting to pick up heavy things? Have you changed the way you sit at your desk? Did you exercise consistently this week? I could go on all day, but instead I challenge you to be honest with yourself about how well you are looking after your health in everyday life, and get back to me about it! And for all those who think its a poor business model to admit to wanting to have clients get better and see them less frequently... dont worry, word of mouth is the best form of advertising Creative Health International (Facebook) See more

17.01.2022 Happy International Womens Day! Recognising the great contribution that women in our lives make to us becoming better people, including my lovely mum who is not only and outstanding person but also guided me in getting Balance Therapeutics Mobile Massage up and running!

17.01.2022 Best of luck to Balance Therapeutics client and WNBL Dandenong Rangers star Sara Blicavs, who is returning to the court today 13 months after rupturing her ACL. Sara has worked amazingly hard to get back to competing, and has been getting regular massages from Balance Therapeutics as part of her recovery process from the strength and conditioning she has had to do. All the best Blicky, looking forward to seeing you on court and back in action!

17.01.2022 Its been so warm outside recently that two clients chose to have their massages outside on their deck today. An amazingly relaxing experience, surrounded by the serenity of their Drysdale farm #findyourbalance #massage #balancetmm

15.01.2022 I’m going to be unavailable over the Queen’s birthday long weekend as I’ll be a bit busy in Mongolia! Great article from Geelong Advertiser in covering what the Geelong Supercats have coming up for 3x3 basketball. Jetting off during this week, I’ll be available again from Tuesday June 11th. And yes, I’ll be booking a massage for myself at some stage after I get back!

15.01.2022 Donated a couple of hours this afternoon at St Josephs College Geelong to help raise money for Movember Foundation Australia. As part of raising awareness of their mental health and as a precursor to Movember next month, staff members donated to the charity in exchange for either 10 minute massages or a haircut by the very talented Vincent. This was the beginning of a massive campaign which has been organised by teacher Tom Cashin at St Josephs College Geelong. Tom is hugel...y passionate about Movember and raising awareness about health and wellbeing, and in particular mental health and the stigma that unfortunately still surrounds talking openly about it. He has organised a trivia night to as another fundraiser on November 9th which is set to be a fantastic event and raise even more awareness in the local commmunity. Donations can also be made online at mobro.co/tomcashin. Great to be a part of something so special, looking forward to the fundraiser night in a few weeks! See more

14.01.2022 Group bookings available! Ive had a number of large bookings in recent times, and if its more than I can fit in on my own then I simply get another trusted massage therapist to give me a hand (literally!). This setup was for a birthday weekend getaway down the coast for eight friends. Bookings are totally flexible in time, simply contact me and tell me what youd like for your booking!

13.01.2022 Fantastic work by St. Albans Football Club, Mark and all others involved in organising this! Thank you for the opportunity to contribute to this event, it was especially meaningful for our massage therapist Liam who hails from the area and had friends and family caught up in the fires. Thank you once again to all involved!

13.01.2022 Just a humorous reminder that Balance Therapeutics tries to be as flexible as humanly possible and this will never happen if you need to cancel or reschedule! there are no charges for changing your appointment in any way, just get in touch and let me know. Obviously as much notice as possible is appreciated but I completely understand that things can come up in life which can get in the way

13.01.2022 Dry needling: an adjunct to the strokes of a massage therapy session, aimed at loosening up tender points specifically in muscles, otherwise known as "myofascial trigger points". Here is a BTMM client receiving dry needling for tight shoulder, neck and back muscles which were most likely a result of gym work, being an office worker and not looking after her body enough with recovery methods such as stretching and massage! Dry needling is sometimes referred to as acupuncture, ...although the origins of the two methods are completely different. While acupuncture has been theorised to be a part of Chinese medicine for thousands of years, dry needling draws its origins from medical doctors Janet Travell and David Simons in the early 1940s. The process of injecting various substances into trigger points was found to have a positive effect on muscle tightness, and Dr Travell and some other colleagues eventually published a paper on the process in 1942. Dr Travell was a widely respected doctor, and even became the White House physician to John F. Kennedy. It wasnt until 1979 when Czech physician Karel Lewit published a paper emphasising that the injection of substances was unnecessary, instead focusing on the effect that the needles themselves had on trigger points. As nothing was being injected, this became known as "dry needling", and is widely used as a treatment method across many types of manual therapy providers today. I personally find that dry needling has a great effect on my own muscles, especially around the gluteus medius muscles of the hips. The most common areas that I find people need dry needling are the shoulders and calves, and can often have muscles go from being rock-hard with hypertonicity and tenderness to loosened and pain-free during a treatment session. ---------------------- Lewit, K. (1979). The needle effect in the relief of myofascial pain. Pain, 6(1), 83-90. Travell, J., Rinzler, S. H., & Herman, M. (1942). 13.01.2022 As many of you would know, I graduated from my Masters in Osteopathy at the end of last year. This concluded five years of studying osteopathy at Victoria University (and four years of health science in the USA ). Now I will be putting that study to good use as an osteopath at a fantastic clinic in Kardinia Osteopathic Clinic in a few weeks time. While this will affect massage availability a little bit, dont worry too much! Youll still be able to book me out for your mob...ile massage sessions in the Geelong and surrounding regions (or visit the clinic for an osteo appointment!). I really do enjoy my massage work because I have such friendly and amazing clients who make it so, which is why Im so appreciative of being able to continue doing mobile massages, but Im also super excited to be taking the next step in my professional career! 12.01.2022 Ive had a number of clients in recent times enquiring about the brand of massage oil I use. For most of this year I have gone with Melrose H2Oil, for a number of reasons. This massage oil is water dispersible, which means that it washes off skin very easily in the shower even without soap, and also leaves skin feeling great. It also washes out of towels and most clothing very well, especially with washing detergent in a warm wash. Another major benefit is that it does not co...ntain nut oils, so there is no risk of nut allergies. Some of the things it does contain include sunflower oil, rice bran oil, coconut oil glycerides, polysorbate 85 and vitamin E. While there are scented versions of this product available, I choose to go with the unscented type to avoid any olfactory distractions or irritations #massage #massagetherapy #massageoil #geelongmassage #geelong #findyourbalance See more

11.01.2022 Best of luck to client Sara Blicavs in the WNBL opener with the inaugural Southside Flyers Sara has been working hard and looking after herself with regular massages during the off-season which will no doubt show tonight! Go Flyers!

06.01.2022 Geelong, your warm weather has well and truly disappeared for now we are all starting to feel the cold, and so are our bodies. Look after yourself, keep moving and keep warm! In cold conditions, the body will direct blood flow away from the skin, muscles and joints. This is because they are more peripheral structures and allow heat to be lost more easily from the body, whereas more central structures can contain this heat better. Think about how hard it can be to move your ...body in cold weather compared to the heat of the summer months, and how tight your muscles and joints can become. Massage can help loosen up this restricted feeling by improving blood flow to these peripheral structures and leave you feeling less restricted, more relaxed, and more able to survive the winter! #massage #geelong #cold #coldweather #winter #geelongmassage See more

04.01.2022 EDGE Community Services and Wellways Geelong collaborated to host a fantastic event today for International Day for People with Disability, and I was lucky enough to be invited down and meet some of the brilliant people involved in both of these organisations. In addition to massages for both clients and carers, there was also face painting, karaoke, a Mario Kart competition, and a prize wheel with some amazing donations coming from local businesses, as well as community Wadawurrung leader Corrina Eccles and local member for Geelong Christine Couzens MP who gave a great update on the plans for disability support in the region. Great day and great people, looking forward to doing it again soon!

03.01.2022 A great view of a clients farm on the Bellarine Peninsula this week. Not a bad spot to have a massage, especially when the sun decides to shine for a little while! A great environment to relax in, which is an especially important part of your overall wellbeing. Sometimes we need to take an hour to just unwind, away from screens, noise, and any other distractions which can stress us out. Combining this with massage, enough sleep, proper nutrition, stress management, and exercise can help you feel better and able to manage the stress of everyday living which we all experience #findyourbalance #massage #massagetherapy #geelong #geelongmassage #geelongmassagetherapist #bellarine #bellarinepeninsula #stressrelief #lifestyle #relax

01.01.2022 Had a great time this morning meeting a few of the residents at Lifestyle Geelongs Mens Health Expo offering short massage chair massages for anybody who needed a quick bit of work on their neck and shoulders. Residents (both men and women) could have various parts of their health and wellness assessed and worked on, including nutrition, podiatry, hearing, and (of course) massage. An extremely enjoyable experience for all, well done to Wellness Coordinator Olivia for organising the event! Lifestyle Geelong #massage #massagetherapy #geelong #geelongevents #lifestyle #community

01.01.2022 Someone was getting jealous of his owners massage today!

01.01.2022 Apologies to those who tried to book a massage yesterday, but I was busy having a very successful day playing with the @geelongsupercats at the @nbl Pro Hustle @3x3hustle event in Melbourne. Worth the effort, but the body is feeling it today! 3x3 is a high intensity game with a lot of physicality and high efforts involved. Ive definitely got some DOMS (and bruises) today, Im going to need a massage for myself sometime soon! @unofficially__official
