22.01.2022 Grand Final time for the State League men at 3pm at Warwick against UWA! Come along to support your Cats! Also all 4 teams in the Division competition go into their Semi Finals on Sunday at Warwick. So lots of Balcatta cheering going on!

21.01.2022 Player of the week goes to Mikayla Prentice for keeping a cool head and serving in for the match, also staying very strong all throughout the tough match today, doing well in multiple roles including setting and hitting. Her performance was crucial in defeating a very intimidating opponent today and they go through to the grand final next week at Warwick at 11am. Well done Mikayla! 20.01.2022 Congratulations to our Year 7/8 Girls who made the WAjVL Finals in a large division of 15 teams across two pools. With an amazing 5 players in the team playing their first ever season of volleyball in 2020, these girls really showed their talent and enthusiasm for the sport which was reflected in their great results of going undefeated throughout the season. They went down in their Semi-Final to a very strong Year 8 Rossmoyne outfit, but played hard and did the club proud.... Well done on your season girls! We can't wait to see you all back next year, chasing another place in the Finals and a chance to go for gold!

19.01.2022 Player(s) of the week goes to three of our Yr 7/8 girls who helped out and prevented a forfeit for the Year 11/12 girls team on Friday night. A huge step up in grade, but Trinity, Kate and Amy all played great games according to coach Mae Stoddart, and Amy even scored a few aces against the tough opposition from Mandurah. Great work girls. 18.01.2022 Just a follow up on this coaches workshop! I'd encourage anyone that has done coaching or even has an inkling of maybe doing it one day in the future to come along! Balcatta Volleyball Club will be increasing the support for coaches in the 2021 season and this workshop is a great example of what we will be offering the club and it's coaches in the coming season and beyond.

18.01.2022 Club Person this week goes to Suvas, Sam and Michelle and all the coaches and others involved with the juniors holiday camp which was a huge success! This is so important to the club and will help ensure the strength of the club in coming seasons. Layne, Balcatta Volleyball President.

17.01.2022 Results from today's preliminary finals are not awesome. Will start with the good news, Div3 women are through the grand final after a convincing win today! Well done ladies! Div3 and Div2 men seemed to have run out of steam and couldn't achieve anywhere near their best volleyball and lost their games today. A great effort to make it this far but just a bit more effort will be required next season to go one or two more steps further hopefully. The Div2 women had a great tussl...e but the clock went against them and lost 4-2 in the 5th. Was a shame to not see how a full 5th set would have gone but unfortunately that's what happens with timed games. Balcatta had 7 teams go into finals this season which is more than any other club. Only one State League team didn't go into finals and all 4 division teams did go into finals. Now just one team left fighting to get a grand final win hopefully! We'd love to see lots of supporters cheering them on next Sunday at Warwick at 11am! Also, remember the awards night on the 24th October on the Paddle Steamer Decoy. 17.01.2022 When the floors are a bit dusty it's important to keep the soles of your shoes clean. Not so important to synchronize with your your teammates but it does make for a cool video.

14.01.2022 To wrap up the weekend of senior finals games, SL Men went down to UWA in the grand final. Has been a bit of tough season for them and any season you make it to the grand final is a great effort. Div2 and Div3 men that both finished 3rd won their semi finals in easy 3 set wins to now go to the next round of finals against the loser of the 1st vs 2nd games. Div2 (2nd) and Div3 (1st) women lost their semi finals today but thankfully go into the 2nd round of finals for a 2nd chance a the grand final.

12.01.2022 Club person of the week is spread among the club members that help out where they're needed, like Sam picking up a training session and assistant coaching today, Mitchell fillin coaching, Mae and Newton both getting to the game today. 05.01.2022 Wow - that was a big two days for the club! We would like to extend a huge thank you to all of our club coaches who ran an extremely successful two day junior holiday camp this week. A special mention to Sam, our head coach, for preparing such a great program. We also appreciate the hard work of our volunteers who helped prepare the lunches each day and Suvas and Byron for their wonderful organising. Also, a massive thank you to all of our 50 participants. We hope you had fun, learned a lot and aren't too sore over the weekend!

01.01.2022 Only one game this weekend, the div 3 women's team unfortunately lost their grand final game. So player of the week goes to all of them for getting that far and at least gaining some valuable finals experience to take into next season. Finals volleyball is different to regular season. Even though the game is the same it's often difficult to keep nerves and excitement at a suitable level to play your best. I think a few teams might have suffered from this but at least the div3 women got there and never gave up! Congratulations on a fantastic season! Layne. Balcatta Volleyball President.

01.01.2022 Club person of the week goes to Mae Stoddart for filling to coach the Div 2 mens team and Aaron Leung for stepping in to coach the Div 3 mens team. Both games were good straight set wins for Balcatta! Thanks again to them both!
