10.01.2022 Lucy and dinky had their first outting today at the Bairnsdale Gymkhana both competing in the Stockhorse ring. Very proud moment seeing both horses behave so well with all the chaos around them, the weather didn't make things easier on them with all the wind. Our aim for the day was to take them out for the exposure without putting a great deal of pressure of them. Lucy (turnt 4 last month) was brought in May 2020 as a green breaker, she had been ridden about a dozen times s...ince then. She is a very laid back horse that goes with the flo. Dinky (5yo) was broken in April had 3 rides and then tipped out. He was brought back into work in September. Not even 2 months of work before the gymkhana and only cantered 4 times the week before. The whole day was a huge challenge for both horses and they both handled it much better than expected, both horses came home with ribbons which far exceeded our expectations of them. Was great to see the event go ahead after all the chaos this year, was a great turn out. Big Thankyou to all the organisers, helpers, judges, stewards for putting this event together and well done to all the competitors that got out there and done their best, was great to see everyone out there and having a go.
