23.01.2022 Right now, we’re all facing the same storm, but we’re all doing so in different boats Some have yachts, others are in tinnies. Some have a substantial crew on ...board, others are rowing alone. Some have life jackets (higher resilience, stronger relationships, more optimism, use their strengths and more positivity), others don’t even have a working rudder... I have been using this boat analogy a lot this week (after hearing it from @janewundersitz) to explain why some people are handling the current crisis better than others.. We are not all in the same boat. We are all in the same storm. That summation of our current situation originally came from Damian Barr (the illustration is by Barbara Kelley), who suggested that some of us will sail through this pandemic with our health and jobs intact, yet others will lose one or both, or potentially more. So if you’re wondering why others are fairing better or worse than you at the moment, perhaps it’s worth considering what type of boat they are in.

22.01.2022 Meet your local committee member, Cat Davis. Hello, I am the President of the Committee of Ballarat North but I prefer, co-collaborator . Our team is working c...ollectively to fight for and improve the aesthetic and functionality of our local area. I live here with my husband and our son, and have a love for gardening, property and sustainability. As an Architecture student, I am the creative behind the drawings and renders of the original Midlands Revival concept. I work from home as an Interior Decorator and an artist because I love finding beautiful and practical solutions to life’s habitual problems. I thrive on the idea that our lives are limitless despite the societal stereotypes or mental constraints we commonly put on ourselves. My vision for Ballarat North includes aesthetically and functionally beautiful shopping and community spaces, with landscaped areas that enable healthy community activities and social interactions. I look forward to markets, plant swapping, outdoor movie nights, and community sustainability projects.

19.01.2022 STAY AT HOME Stage 3 Covid-19 "Stay-at-Home" rules have come into force in Regional Victoria overnight. From today, until at least September 13, regional ...Victorians are only allowed to leave home for four reasons - to go shopping for food and essentials, work and study, care-giving, and exercise. Non-urgent surgeries at public hospitals will be cancelled to free up health workers and equipment. Entertainment venues, gyms and beauty salons will also close and community sport is off limits. Pubs, cafes and restaurants are limited to takeaway and delivery.
