24.01.2022 As 2020 draws to a close, we would like to take the opportunity to reflect on what the Ballarat Foundation has achieved and to sincerely thank you, our community of loyal and generous supporters for making this year’s achievements possible. While we, along with our entire community, faced the enormous challenges presented by COVID-19, we have been pleasantly surprised by the significant progress and impact our organization has made. From distributing more than $100,000 in gra...nts to the local community, raising over $40,000 through our first two ventures into virtual events, securing funding for an additional car for the TAC L2P Program and playing a leading role in developing a major food relief program. Of course, these are just the highlights of a difficult yet productive 2020. While it has indeed been a challenging and unpredictable year, the Ballarat Foundation team has worked tirelessly to respond to community needs and ensure our impact has been significant. Of course, this work will not slow down and we are now looking forward to a big 2021, kicking off with Dancing with our Stars in March. Thank you to everyone who supported the Ballarat Foundation this year and Merry Christmas! See more

21.01.2022 We are raising funds through the Federation University Run for a Cause virtual event for the Ballarat Reads program. One part of this program is the Dolly Parton Imagination Library - children receive a high quality and age appropriate book per month delivered via mail. Here’s what one Mum said about being a part of the program: "My two and half year old has been receiving books from the imagination library for almost 12 months now and we look forward to our new text each month. We have been so lucky to explore a wide variety of books and I can see her development and love of learning and reading growing. We can’t thank you enough for letting us be a part of this wonderful program." - Sarah, Mum of Ruby

17.01.2022 Our volunteers today packed and delivered more than 220 food packages to Ballarat schools and universities - the largest distribution since the Ballarat Foundation Covid-19 food assistance program with Salvation Army Ballarat and Ballarat Community Health began. Unfortunately, we are seeing an increase in requests for food support as the impact of the pandemic continues but through the generous support of our community and funding partners - the most recent include Australian... Communities Foundation national crisis response fund and Ballarat Connected Communities we can keep supporting those most in need. Beyond this immediate response, the foundation has finalised community impact grants totalling more than $105,000 to 17 different organisations. These grants will support programs which deliver direct positive outcomes in our areas of focus - early childhood and youth success and food and housing security. I’m really proud that our team members and board of directors continue to stand up for the Ballarat community in these toughest of times.

'Working in the Not-for-Profit sector in Ballarat for many years, I have come to understand what a unique and precious community we all share. The generosity and dedication that exists from individuals and organisations alike is astounding and contributes to Ballarat being a destination of choice for visitors and new residents alike, and creates a sense of belongin...g and purpose for those who live here, that in turn inspires participation and delivers positive outcomes for so many. Dancing with the Stars provides an opportunity to add to this body of work by supporting the Ballarat Foundation as it continues to underpin many organisations in our city.
