22.01.2022 From tomorrow, 1 December, patients at the Base Hospital and Queen Elizabeth Centre will be permitted up to two visitors at any one time during visiting hours. This means that patients may have multiple visiting sessions each day within permitted hours. Patients, families and loved ones are encouraged to coordinate their visits, to avoid disappointment if the patient already has visitors on the ward. For more information on changes to visitor restrictions, see bhs.org.au/covid-19
22.01.2022 Is your home COVID-safe? If you have not travelled, but a member of your household has travelled and they need to quarantine, please ensure you can maintain safe infection control measures within your household. This will reduce your risk of exposure and reduce the spread of COVID-19 within the community. Maintaining safe infection control measures in your home includes: staying and sleeping in a different room to other people as much as possible ... using a separate bathroom if available not having people to visit you inside your home or accommodation ensuring you stay at least 1.5 metres from others in the home not sharing food and drink not sharing household items like forks, knives, plates or glasses washing hands thoroughly and often We all need to work together to reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19, to get on top of this latest outbreak in Victoria, and until a vaccine has been successfully rolled out across Australia. These outbreaks are likely to continue occurring until that roll-out, so take this time to review your household COVID-safe processes and touch base with support networks. For more information visit bhs.org.au/news-and-events/news/covid-19-update/

In particular, we acknowledge the Wadawurrung people, the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we live and work, and we pay our respects to their Elders past and present. Ballarat Health Services is very proud to serve our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities through our Aboriginal health team. ... Our Aboriginal Hospital Liaison Officers and Koori Mental Health Liaison Officer work with patients and their families, staff, volunteers, and local communities to provide culturally appropriate care for all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Our NAIDOC Week celebrations centered around the artwork that won our 2020 Aboriginal Art Competition - Lowana Clarke’s ‘protector of his mob’.
