17.01.2022 ***MARRIAGE CEREMONIES & FUNERAL SERVICES*** ********NO CHANGE***********NO CHANGE**********

16.01.2022 The question I'm being asked most at the moment is around the topic of masks and marriage ceremonies here in Regional Victoria. So I've tried to answer some of ...those questions here: DO THE COUPLE being married have to wear masks? The answer is 'No' whilst the ceremony is taking place AND 'Yes' leading up to and after the conclusion of the ceremony. DO THE BRIDAL PARTY (BRIDESMAIDS & GROOMSMEN) have to wear masks? The answer is Yes and Yes, at all times. DO THE PARENTS OF THE COUPLE have to wear masks? The answer is Yes at all times. DO THE GUESTS have to wear masks? The answer is YES at all times unless they are under 12 years of age or have a valid exemption. DOES THE CELEBRANT have to wear a mask? The answer is YES leading up to and after the conclusion of the ceremony, however, if it is necessary to ensure the ceremony is audible then the Celebrant may remove their mask during the ceremony only. DOES THE PHOTOGRAPHER OR ANY OTHER VENDOR need to wear a mask? The answer is Yes, Yes and Yes. I know these are not necessarily the answers we would like, however, they are the current requirements here in Regional Victoria. 16.01.2022 COUPLES are asking if I am still happy to officiate their planned Marriages when Wedding season soon kicks off again.......the answer is a big YES!!! Although ...we have ever-changing restrictions to work with, I’m certainly still happy to officiate for all my couples who are wanting to go ahead with their marriages and who have existing bookings for Ceremonies throughout this COVID-19 period. I understand it is a difficult situation for those with upcoming weddings, trying to plan when there is no way to know if restrictions will ease, or if in fact we will encounter an intense second wave and see an across the board reduction of back to five for weddings again. That is an unknown and sadly we just have to wait and see. As the start of the wedding season fast approaches, begin thinking about what your plan is and keep communications open with your suppliers. If you are considering postponing, dates for the early months of 2021 are very quickly filling, so making a decision sooner rather than later, will hopefully mean you will not be waiting for a 2022 wedding. Lots to think about!!! Stay well everyone xo . 05.01.2022 ***NO MAJOR CHANGE TO CURRENT REGIONAL WEDDING & FUNERAL RESTRICTIONS UNDER STEP 3 - Minor change to people allowed to attend private residence weddings *******...************** Today's announcement from the Premier confirms there are no changes major to Weddings & Funerals in the current Regional Step 3 restrictions. I have outlined these below: * It's important to know that ceremonies at a private residence are still more restricted than at a venue or public space. * A photographer is permitted to photograph a wedding at a venue or public space, but they must be included as one of the 10 people attending. The only additional person over and above the 10 person limit is the Celebrant. (Infants under 12 mths are not included in the limit) * Weddings held at a private residence/private property can have a professional photographer if they are counted as one of the two allowable adult visitors to the home. * Who can attend a wedding at a private residence? The normal residents of the couples home, and a maximum of 2 visiting adults and their dependants can attend. * The Celebrant may attend a private residence to officiate the ceremony as they are legally required to be there. * People from Metro Melb are not permitted to travel to Regional Vic for the purpose of attending a wedding. * Masks must be worn by all with the exemption of the marrying couples during the ceremony. WHEN Regional Vic moves to Step 4 of the Roadmap, we will be allowed 50 attending a wedding at a venue or public space (in total) or 20 attending at a wedding at a private residence, no limit on how many households those people are from, and photographers would then be allowed and counted as one of the 20. I hope this helps people still trying to figure out numbers and current restrictions.
